Mama June Shannon considering putting her grieving granddaughters in therapy to cope with the loss of their mother Anna ‘Chickadee’ Toney

“Mama” June Shannon is considering putting her two grieving granddaughters in therapy to cope with the recent loss of their mother Anna Marie “Chickadee” Toney.

The 44-year-old matriarch's eldest daughter tragically lost her 10-month battle with stage four adrenal cancer on December 9, at the age of 29.

Anna's youngest daughter Kylee Madison Cardwell turned 8 the same day she died, and her ex-husband Michael Cardwell was given legal custody of his child.

“The sisters called each other and mourned together,” says an insider TMZ on Monday.

“It has been harder for Kylee to understand her mother's death (because of her age). She sought support from her friends and returned to school on Friday, which the family considers a good sign. The school had a field trip and the family thought it was a good time for Kylee to go back.”

June obtained legal custody of Toney's 11-year-old daughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth Clark, whose father was reportedly her high school sweetheart Caleb Clark.

Little Kaitlyn worked up the courage to speak at the Five Star Toyota salesman's funeral, which took place last Wednesday at Williams White-Columns Funeral Home in Gordon, GA.

“She shared memories of her time with Anna, some of which led to laughter,” the insider said.

“Kaitlyn was very involved in Anna's battle with cancer, making sure her mother took her medications and staying by her side throughout the process. So there's a lot to unpack.”

On Sunday, Shannon's husband of 10 months – Justin Stroud – used semi-permanent hair dye to dye Kaitlyn's front blonde locks bright red.

And while the Georgia native noted that “nothing will bring their mother back,” she did create Amazon wish lists for her granddaughters and encouraged fans to send gifts/cards to PO Box 631, Gordon, GA 31031.

Anna “didn't want to rot in the ground,” so June had her remains cremated and placed in an urn so the family can carry her “with us every step we take in our lives.”

Before her death, Toney secretly married her boyfriend since 2017 – Eldridge Toney – on March 4, and the We TV cameras rolled during the intimate ceremony for the upcoming seventh season – according to TMZ.

“Filming was something Anna wanted to do,” Eldridge said People on Sunday.

'She wanted to draw attention to her rare form of cancer, because so much is still unknown about it and it is very rare.'

The former Walmart stocker was introduced on Toddlers and Tiaras and its spinoff Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which TLC canceled in 2014 after four seasons due to June's boyfriend Mark McDaniel being convicted of molesting Cardwell.
