Malpractice cast: Who stars in the new ITV medical drama series?
ITV’s thrilling new medical drama Malpractice will premiere on TV on Sunday night.
The gripping five-part series focuses on Dr. Lucinda Edwards, who is examined by fellow doctors after a patient in her care dies of an opioid overdose.
Viewers who enjoyed Line Of Duty and Casualty will likely be entranced by the new show as it is from the same production company as the previous one.
Filmed in West Yorkshire, it will feature nerve-racking scenes where a gunman bursts in as Lucinda tries to treat her patient Edith.
But viewers will soon find out that all is not as it seems Lucinda was investigated by the Medical Investigation Unit’s investigation.
The show is written and created by former NHS doctor Grace Ofori-Attah, based on her own experiences.
But who will star in the exciting new series? MailOnline takes a look at the star-studded cast of Malpractice – as some of the names are likely to sound familiar.
New series: ITV’s Malpractice, which airs for the first time on Sunday night, has a star-studded cast
Dr. Lucinda Edwards – played by Niamh Algar
Dr. Lucinda Edwards is an experienced and skilled physician.
Viewers will see her on a “nightmare shift” when a gunman breaks in while she’s treating a patient, Edith, who later dies on her watch.
This leads to a large-scale investigation into her actions, but viewers wonder if she is hiding something.
Irish actress Niamh, 30, previously won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award in 2020 for her role in The Virtues.
You may also recognize her from Calm With Horses and MotherFatherSon.

Fans will likely recognize 58-year-old James from his role as Mark Anthony on the HBO series Rome.
He also has a number of theater roles to his credit, including Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and several performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
And the star was almost even more famous, because in 1995 he was screen tested for James Bond, but ultimately lost to Piers Brosnan.
More recently, in 2020, he joined the cast of V for Vendetta.
He is married to art historian Jessica Adams, with whom she shares three children, and was previously married to Waking The Dead actress Holly Aird.

Dr Norma Callahan – played by Helen Behan
Dr. Norma Callahan leads the investigation of Lucinda.
Irish actress Helen Behan starred in This Is England ’88 and The Virtues.
She was once a nurse herself before entering the world of acting – before returning to her profession during the coronavirus pandemic.
She will therefore bring her practical experience to her new role.
She landed her first acting role in This Is England after a chance encounter with director Shane Meadows at a local pub.

Dr George Adjei – played by Jordan Kouamé
Lucinda’s former colleague is also part of the investigation, but sees it as an “inevitable tragedy” – rather than blaming his friend.
Jordan is relatively new to acting but previously acted in Scoop after graduating from the Royal College of Dramatic Art.
Tom Edwards – played by Lorne MacFadyen
The investigation leads to tension between Lucinda and her husband Tom.
Scottish actor Lorne, 32, is originally from Skye and despite having the same surname, is not related to actor Matthew MacFadyen.
He played English footballer Bobby Moore in the ITV mini-series Tina & Bobby.
Lorne revealed that he was drawn to his role in Malpractice because his mother and sister were both ER nurses.

Sir Anthony Owusu – played by Brian Bovell
Sir Anthony, Edith’s grieving father, demands the investigation into Lucinda’s practice.
And it’s not Brian’s, 63, first time in a major production, as he had a cameo as a radio DJ in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually (2003).
Other cast members include Shaun Fagan as the gunman, Hannah Walters as Matron Beth Relph, Priyanka Patel as Dr. Ramya Morgan, Scott Chambers as Dr. Oscar Beattie, Tristan Sturrock as Dr. Mike Willett, Georgina Rich as Dr. Eva Tait and Liberty Miller as Abi Edwards. .
