Male fighter forcefully kisses female opponent and proclaims ‘Brazilians can’t take a joke’ as intergender fight is ‘cancelled’ – before controversial U-turn sees Las Vegas bout declared back on
An intergender wrestling match was ‘cancelled’ after the male fighter kissed his female opponent during the weigh-in.
Australian fighter Craig Jones was due to face Gabi Garcia at this weekend’s ‘Craig Jones Invitational’, but that has been called into question following the events.
The fight was sparked by the height difference between the two, with Garcia towering over her opponent during the face-offs the duo had leading up to the match.
Jones, who is 33 and has a record 55 wins, was described by some as an underdog going into the match. Garcia, who like Jones is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu star, has 71 wins with another six MMA victories.
But the race was in jeopardy just hours before the start during the final confrontation, with Jones grabbing his opponents and kissing them on the lips.

Jones announced on social media that the fight was off, before stating it would go back on
Garcia, 38, screamed before calling Jones a “b***h” and shouting “f*** you,” claiming her opponent had “crossed the line”
In a video of the incident shared to Jones’ Instagram account, Garcia can be seen once again towering over her shirtless opponent as she stands face-to-face with her opponent.
Almost immediately afterward, Jones grabbed Garcia’s head and kissed him.
Garcia, 38, yelled in response and was seen chasing Jones as he fled the scene.
She could also be seen screaming, “Man. You’re an a***h man. Craig, really? F*** you. You crossed the line, crossed the line, crossed the line,” before slapping the camera away.
The video ended with a slow-motion replay of the kiss, and was captioned, “The fight is canceled. I guess Brazilians can’t take a joke.”
In the lead-up to the fight, Jones had apparently made a number of comments about love, such as that she would “leave the alley with a limp, and the OnlyFans video shoot with a horrible limp.”
Garcia was also asked if she had a crush on Jones, to which she replied, “Zero.”
Jones, meanwhile, appeared to have his opponent’s name tattooed on his body.
Garcia responded to the incident in a series of posts on her own Instagram account, calling Jones “a clown”
The fight, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday night in Las Vegas, has been replaced by a ‘superfight’
Jones later shared a number of photos from the weigh-in on social media, indicating that the competition was back on.
The fight is scheduled for Saturday night in Las Vegas and is being called a “superfight.”
Garcia took to her own Instagram to address the incident, saying in a series of stories, “I’m more angry that he hurt my head than he was trying to kiss me. My head still hurts but look, it’s martial arts, right? Don’t blame the clown.
‘Instead, ask yourself, “Why do I keep going to the circus?” I’m the clown or he’s the clown, but you go to the circus, right? You’re there to laugh. If I didn’t want anyone to judge me or talk about me or laugh at me, I probably would have quit a long time ago, 18 years ago.’
