A male Disneyland employee dressed as ‘Fairy Godmother’s apprentice’ has sparked outrage and prompted calls for a boycott of the entertainment resort.
Footage of the worker, sporting a mustache and wearing a blue and purple dress as he welcomes a young girl to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Anaheim, California, has gone viral.
It was posted by Kournti Farber, a mother of three, documenting her family’s trip to Disneyland and she praised the workers for giving her daughter an unforgettable experience.
But critics have lashed out at Disney for allowing a man to wear a suit dress, calling it “inappropriate.”
The company has made an effort to be more inclusive and forward-thinking in recent years, but it has upset some fans who think it has gone too far with waking changes.

The viral clip shows the Disney employee dressed as a “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice” and matching eyeshadow.
“So my name is Nick, I’m an apprentice of the fairy godmother,” he says as he welcomes a little girl to the shop.
“I’m here to shop you around and make all your choices for the day.”
It has been viewed more than 7.6 million times since it was posted on May 26 and has received huge responses.
Conservative writer Peachy Keenan said: ‘A man in crossdressing is not only bizarre and inappropriate, but it takes guests out of the ‘show’ – the illusion is broken.
“Nothing matters except the agenda and your 4-year-old is a pawn they love to mindflay.”
While Dave Rubin, who hosts the “Rubin Report,” wrote, “This guy will be hired by the Biden to complete the nuclear weapons program by the end of the day…
‘This is a guy with a mustache in a dress. Not a “trans” person. Think how many real girls want that job at Disney and they didn’t give him that job for nothing.”
Critics have lashed out at Disney for allowing a man to wear a suit dress, labeling it “inappropriate,” while others have called for a boycott of the company.
And Brandon Morse, an editor at the conservative political blog Red State, added, “My, you’ll never suffer the same destruction of your legacy as poor Walt.”
Others called for a boycott of Disney, with Blaze TV host Sara Gonzales telling her followers, “Stop taking your family to Disney.”
Another user commented, “I’m already boycotting Disney, so everyone should.”
Cast members who worked at Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique were previously referred to as “Fairy Godmothers in Training.”
But the company dropped this last summer in favor of “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices” in an effort to be more inclusive of those who don’t identify as women.
At the time, Disney said, “This way, cast members who may not identify as female can still be part of the process of dressing up and styling the kids without having to call themselves a female Disney character.”
Kids between the ages of 3 and 12 visit the boutique to get “magical makeovers for royalty-in-training.”
