A male flight attendant was removed from an American Airlines flight by police after “a teenage girl found a hidden camera” in a first-class restroom on board.
Massachusetts State Police responded to a “possible criminal act” that occurred on an American Airlines Flight 1441 traveling from Charlotte, North Carolina to Boston on September 2.
State Police Troop F, which has jurisdiction at Boston Logan International Airport, arrived first on scene.
A soldier from the unit told me WSOC the incident “involved a juvenile, a telephone and a flight attendant.”
The teen’s mother reportedly alerted another passenger that her child had found a camera in the bathroom. The girl and her family were then removed from the plane by state police upon arrival at Boston Airport.

An unnamed passenger on board said it Boston 25 News that a teenage girl riding the bus attempted to use the first-class bathroom but was stopped from entering by a male flight attendant.
“As she was about to go to the bathroom, he stopped her and said, ‘Hey, wait a minute, we’re going to collect trash, so I’m going to wash my hands,’” the passenger said.
The teenage girl went to the bathroom after the flight attendant used it and then returned to the coach.
Shortly afterwards, the teen’s mother went to first class and stopped another passenger from using the restroom.
The passenger who spoke to Boston 25 News said it was the other passenger who told them the mother said there was a camera in the bathroom.
“The mother stopped that passenger from going to the bathroom and said, ‘Wait, don’t go in there,’” the passenger said.
When the plane landed, state police boarded the plane and began an investigation.
The unnamed passenger said, “After three or four different people checked the bathroom, they removed the male flight attendant, and then they let us go.”
In a statement to the Daily Mail Online, American Airlines said: “We are taking this matter very seriously and are cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities in their investigation as safety and security are our highest priorities.”
State police determined the alleged act occurred during the flight, which is under federal jurisdiction.
Federal investigators have taken over the investigation.
