The Irwins recently headed to Tasmania for a family holiday.
But an American magazine mistook the Australian island nation for a country in Africa, leading to an embarrassing blunder.
Robert, mother Terri, sister Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell all went to Tassie with Bindi’s little girl, Grace.
The family shared a series of photos on Instagram taken at Cradle Mountain, an iconic landmark in the state.
The American magazine mistook Tasmania for Tanzaniain Africa, wrote about the “family vacation in the East African country” and said the group tagged “the resort they were staying at, Cradle Mountain Lodge.”
Some Australians found the mistake funny, especially the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania.
Amy Hills, from the council, told the ABC said in a statement that Tasmania was happy to accept the promotion, even if it came at the cost of a mistake.
“While it appears this is an unfortunate mistake as Tasmania is clearly a long way from Tanzania, in a strange way it gives us the opportunity to create even more buzz about our iconic Cradle Mountain,” Hills said.

Many commenters on Facebook also found it funny. One of them wrote: ‘In the 1980s a tourist accidentally flew to Tasmania instead of Tanzania. I remember reading it in The Mercury at the time.”
‘When I was studying in the US, almost everyone I met thought Tasmania was Tanzania. They also considered our New Zealand classmate to be Australian,” said another.

Another said: ‘I’m still amazed that Austria has an ‘I wanted to fly to Australia’ service desk. It can always be worse’.
Someone else commented: ‘People often come into my store in Burnie asking where they can get Tanzania souvenirs.’
‘I remember being in the US 30 years ago and constantly having to explain “TASMANIA” and that a “Tasmanian Devil” was not a Disney cartoon character!! It seems nothing has changed!’ added one more.

It comes after Robert revealed his two favorite holiday destinations in his home country of Australia.
The 20-year-old conservationist said he likes to go to the Far North Queensland or Tasmania to relax.
“I know what you’re thinking – two of the most opposite places, but they both have such a rugged and raw natural beauty,” he shared news.com.au this week.
When in Tasmania he enjoys visiting Cradle Mountain, an iconic place full of natural beauty.

‘There are so many beautiful walks and incredibly friendly wildlife,’ Robert explained.
‘I also enjoy the Tasman Peninsula, Launceston, Swansea and the beautiful Tarkine Wilderness, to name just a few places.’
In Far North Queensland he enjoys visiting the mangroves and estuaries, and taking various mountain bike trails.
“A good distance from the waterfront, of course,” he joked, referring to the many crocodiles in the area.
