The grandson of Hollywood star Paul Hogan has been charged with breaking into a security room at Sydney International Airport to steal a $5,000 bicycle, just months after avoiding jail.
Police allege Jake Paul Hogan was carrying burglary tools when he broke into the secure staff bike shed in Sydney International Airport’s car park on August 10.
Inside, the 34-year-old is said to have stolen a champagne-colored, custom-made Surly Ogre bicycle, valued at more than $5,000.
Just three days later, just after 5 a.m., he returned, according to police, with burglary tools and two black mountain bikes, which are suspected to have been stolen.

Mr Hogan was charged with six offences in connection with the August 28 burglaries, while he was already in custody on separate burglary charges.
He was represented by his lawyer at Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court on Wednesday, where his case was adjourned until later this month.
At the time of his arrest, he was in pre-trial detention.
