Maisie Williams has dismissed concerns about her 13-year age difference with boyfriend Max George, saying she is a “consenting 21-year-old woman”.
The former EastEnders star is head over heels in love with The Wanted singer, 34, and has opened up about how the couple doesn’t notice the age difference between them.
talking to yousunday sunMaisie recounted how the couple hope to live together soon as she is moving from Essex to her home in Manchester.
Addressing their age difference, the star said: “If it wasn’t that, it would be something else.” People don’t understand what goes on behind closed doors in a relationship, and I think they also forget that I’m a 21-year-old woman who has actually been working longer than Max.
‘I don’t notice the age difference and neither do my friends or family. My mom Julia is the one who reads all the comments. I got a text from her yesterday, saying, ‘Just ignore them, you two were made for each other.’

Maisie recalled being a fan of The Wanted as a teenager and was quick to admit that Max was obviously her favourite.
The star has remained defiant in the face of criticism, saying she doesn’t care what others think of their relationship.
She said: ‘I think that puts it in perspective. I really don’t care what the random person thinks of my relationship when everyone I care about is incredibly supportive. I’ve been in the business long enough to know that you have to have tough skin.
The actress shared how she feels ready to settle down and take a break from her hectic work schedule.
She has just returned from a six month tour of the country while performing in a musical theater show and is now ready to kick back and relax.
Maisiy, who plays the role of Lady Fran in Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom: The Musical, said she’s definitely ready for a bit of unemployment.
The star, who is a true workaholic, said this for the first time in a long time. being able to enjoy just sitting at home.
Max often had to travel and juggle to catch up with his girlfriend’s busy schedule, but it seems the singer never missed an opportunity.
Maisie said that the relationship has been mostly on her terms and that during her tour, Max was traveling all the time, sometimes waiting for her with dinner ready.
He admitted that they are both looking forward to enjoying some time at home in one place without having to worry about work commitments.
