“We really are two best friends, in love and so happy. We still get negative comments. Family and friends are so supportive and have never seen us so happy. I’ve never been in such a happy position.’

It comes after Maisie recently dismissed concerns about her 13-year age gap with boyfriend Max, saying she’s a “consenting 21-year-old woman.”

The star is head over heels in love with the singer and shared how the couple does not notice the age difference between them.

Speak against The sun on Sunday she said, “If it wasn’t that, it would be something else.”

“People don’t understand what goes on behind closed doors in a relationship, and I think they also forget that I’m a consenting 21-year-old woman who’s actually been working longer than Max!

“I don’t notice the age difference and neither do my friends or family. My mother Julia is the one who reads all the comments. I got a message from her yesterday saying, “Just ignore them, you guys are made for each other.”
