Magnitude 4.2 earthquake strikes regional NSW – as Aussies feel tremors in Penrith, Central Coast and Hunter Valley

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake has been recorded in regional NSW.
The earthquake was recorded on Tuesday 7km from Denman in the Upper Hunter Region, 250km north of Sydney.
Residents reported feeling an earthquake in the Hunter Valley, Central Coast, Scone and Penrith in western Sydney.
“What the hell is going on?” wrote someone on social media platform X.
“Felt in the Hunter Valley,” a second added.
A third added: ‘How often is that now in the last six months?’
The magnitude 4.2 earthquake was recorded 7km from Denman, which is close to Muswellbrook (pictured), in regional NSW.
