A massive MAGA truck convoy dubbed the ‘Army of God’ is heading towards the southern border as experts raise alarm about the border crisis after a record 302,000 migrants crossed into the US.
The massive convoy of truckers is making its way to three migrant hotspots in three states in an attempt to shame the White House’s handling of the worsening crisis.
Hundreds – possibly thousands – of major rigs plan to head to Eagle Pass in Texas, Yuma in Arizona and San Ysidro in California starting January 29 for the four-day “Take Back Our Border” event.
They hope the high-profile, all-American protest will draw further attention to record numbers of migrants crossing the southern border into the US, with several cities now buckling under the weight of efforts to care for them.

In October, President Joe Biden requested emergency funding and asked Congress for more border agents, officers and deportation flights.
Last week he promised to close the border if the bill is passed.
Congressman Keith Self, a Republican representative from Texas, said, “Once again the truck drivers stand for We the People.
“The time is NOW to take action and secure our borders!”
The development is the latest in an increasingly heated and chaotic political fight over whether Texas can ignore or replace the federal government — as Governor Greg Abbott accuses the Biden administration of not doing enough to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the Lone Star State to contain.

Despite the Supreme Court ruling Monday in favor of the Biden administration that Border Patrol agents can cut razor wire at the border (placed there by Texas) if they feel the need to do so, Texas is doubling down.
The state has added more razor wire and is refusing to give up control of an Eagle Pass park it took control of on Jan. 10.
However, a golf course within the park is still open for locals to enjoy the elegant pastime, while federally employed Border Patrol agents are barred.
The FBI was given a Jan. 26 deadline by the state to allow Border Patrol agents, who had been banned from the park, access to Shelby Park.
Congressman Joaquin Castro of San Antonio called on Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday.
“Governor Greg Abbott is using the Texas National Guard to obstruct and create chaos at the border. “If Abbott defies yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling, @POTUS must now establish exclusive federal control of the Texas National Guard,” Castro posted online.

Texas, with 25 governors from Republican states releasing letters supporting Abbott, has strong support.
“I think the border has reached a boiling point now that you’re now seeing governors getting involved,” Self told Fox Business News.
‘There’s a truck convoy coming to the border. The American people are going to have to get involved.”
The group behind the convoy is asking all peaceful Americans to participate starting Monday.
Migrants are seen pushing their way through barbed wire in Eagle Pass in December 2023. The Texas city is one of three cities that will host the latest convoy later this month.

“These people are committed to peaceful demonstration, that we’ve had enough – the American people have had enough. We demand that the Biden administration do its job, enforce the laws on the books and secure our border.”
Between 2022 and 2023, there were a record 2.48 million interceptions along the southern border — and many more crossings that entered the United States undetected.
In September 2023, there were a record 269,735 interceptions. Migrants intercepted by Border Patrol agents can apply for asylum.
They are typically released into the United States pending their cases being heard in a court.
