A fervent Donald Trump supporter who witnessed the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last Saturday got into her car and made the 500-mile drive to Milwaukee to attend the Republican National Convention.
Renee White stood out, standing behind the GOP candidate, wearing a Tiffany-blue Trump T-shirt and a baseball cap. White said NBC Miami This week, she said she drove from her home in North Carolina to Butler for the rally just to see Trump.
“I love Trump,” White told the station through tears, wearing the same clothes she wore Saturday when Trump grabbed his ear and ducked away from the gunfire.
“I think I was in shock and just really tired, and I was like, ‘What is this?’” White said.

In her interview, White said she is just praying for unity after the Trump shooting
When asked what she hoped the shooting would accomplish in the long run, White had an answer.
“Unity and I hope that the shot that rang out around the world, like when John F. Kennedy was shot, like on 9/11, I hope it brings unity,” White said through tears.
The Trump booster said she didn’t pack much clothing for her trip and was forced to shower at a gas station. She remains hopeful she can make it to the Fiserv Forum this week to experience the RNC.

“I was looking at the big rocket and all of a sudden I heard the first shot. I told everyone I didn’t know if I saw it or if I followed the sound. I don’t know, but it came from there and I went straight to Trump,” she said.
‘I’m sitting there, and people are falling off this side, and people are falling off that side and I’m like, this is crazy, they’re trying to get through the chairs and the couches and I’m just standing there and I’m looking around, and I’m like, what the hell is going on here. I’m like, this is crazy. It’s like an out-of-body experience.’
In that interview, White said she plans to continue wearing her flashy Trump outfit until Election Day in November.
White is an avid fan of the Republican candidate and says she has attended 32 rallies since 2016.
White also reiterated her call for unity in that interview, saying she would feel just as guilty if there had been an attempt to assassinate President Joe Biden.
“I think when moments like this happen, I think it brings unity. I hope and pray that it doesn’t bring division. I would have felt the same way if something like this happened to Biden, I would have felt the same way, it’s not that it was Donald Trump versus Joe Biden, it was the fact that someone shot someone and that didn’t have to happen, right?”
