Conservatives are rejoicing that ‘Project 2025’ will be implemented in the new Donald Trump era, despite the former president’s repudiation of the agenda during the campaign.
Project 2025 is a hardline conservative manifesto, outlining a government program written by its allies.
Both Trump and JD Vance have shrugged off suggestions that the agenda is on the table for them, but conservatives like Matt Walsh and Steve Bannon have relished the opportunity to push their policy goals after the election.
“Now that the election is over, I think we can finally say that Project 2025 is indeed the agenda,” Walsh wrote on Wednesday.
Speaking on his podcast, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, fresh out of prison, gave Walsh a shout out and wholeheartedly agreed.
Conservatives like Steve Bannon are rejoicing that ‘Project 2025’ will be introduced in the new Donald Trump era, despite the former president’s repudiation of the agenda during the campaign.
“I think Matt Walsh is a very smart and funny guy. Great. Put that everywhere,” he said.
He then became much more serious, continuing his accusation that the 2020 election was stolen and saying the perpetrators would be redeemed.
“You stole the 2020 election.… This whole fake thing is being wiped away,” Bannon said.
“Biden is getting wiped out. Kamala Harris gets wiped out. MSNBC is being wiped out. The Justice Department is being wiped out. The FBI is wiped out. You guys are bad, okay?! And now you’re going to pay the price for trying to destroy this country.”
Bannon was recently released from a four-month prison sentence in Connecticut for contempt of Congress.
He was convicted in 2022 on two counts of defying subpoenas issued by the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 attack when Trump supporters ransacked the U.S. Capitol in 2021.
Project 2025 was overseen by the conservative Heritage Foundation, a think tank that includes alumni of the Trump administration and related groups.
It lays out a blueprint for Trump as president, including proposals he has already passed, such as strengthening the southern border and reducing federal involvement in education.

“Now that the election is over, I think we can finally say that Project 2025 is indeed the agenda,” Matt Walsh wrote on Wednesday.
But it also calls for a ban on a widely used abortion pill, the elimination of the Department of Homeland Security and the elimination of dietary guidelines.
Trump repeatedly dismissed any suggestion during last month’s presidential debate that it would provide a blueprint for his administration. He said he had “nothing to do with it.”
Authors of the manifesto include Russ Vought, who was budget director in the Trump White House, and JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, has ties to Kevin Roberts who oversaw the entire project.
Recently, Trump transition team leader Howard Lutnick has thrown cold water on the idea that it will be used in the White House.
Lutnick also rejected Project 2025, the document produced by a group of former Trump administration figures that the Trump campaign has repeatedly said does not represent Trump or his campaign.
“Project 2025 is absolute ground zero for the Trump-Vance transition,” Lutnick said.
