MAFS: Viewers angry that stars always expect their partners to move to Sydney

As homestay week winds down, Married At First Sight viewers have noticed an infuriating detail between long-distance couples.

Flocking to Reddit after Tuesday night’s episode, some pointed out that Sydney’s MAFS stars almost always hope their partners will move interstate for them.

Evelyn Ellis, Harrison Boon and Tahnee Cook in particular were criticized for not wanting to leave their home state for love, asking their partners to move.

‘Why do all Sydneysiders think their partners should move to Sydney? It seems if you are from Sydney the partner needs to move to Sydney. Why is this the case?’ one person asked.

Other fans suggested that model Evelyn and PR manager Tahnee probably wouldn’t be moving due to their media jobs, while Harrison would have to stay in Sydney because he’s co-parenting with his ex-partner.

“It makes sense for Evelyn to stay as she would have pre-existing model relationships,” one viewer noted.

‘For Ollie [Skelton, Tahnee’s husband, a voice-over artist from Perth] being in the media landscape makes sense [to move] also. Two years of experience as a broadcaster in Sydney could equal six in Perth.

“For someone like Harrison, who has a job that can be easily changed, there is no excuse. [But] add a child and that makes it reasonable for him to ask [Bronte, from Perth] move,’ another person wrote.

However, there were other Reddit users who did not accept the excuse of the career and said that nowadays it is possible to accept media jobs anywhere.

“I can understand those who have children in Sydney not wanting to move,” said one.

“But it surprises me with couples like Tahnee and Ollie who can do their work from Perth and afford a bigger venue.” [there]however, they automatically settle in Sydney.’
