MAFS UK’s Duka Cavolli ‘reignites’ romance with ex-girlfriend after marriage to Whitney fails

Married At First Sight UK’s Duka Cavolli has rekindled a romance with a former flame following his divorce from Whitney Hughes.

Duka, 31, married Whitney in the show’s first episode, but their relationship was doomed from the start.

Whitney’s personal assistant was on the hunt for a “man’s solid brick house,” but described her husband Duka as a “barn.”

She faced criticism from viewers for not giving Duka a chance, even admitting at the altar that she was tempted to “run.”

Whitney said, “I hope as I walk down the aisle I see a man’s solid brick house, he must be tall, have a thick, luscious beard, I’m not going to settle for anything less than perfect…

“I wanted a man to tower over me as massive, like a brick house. Compared to a house he might be like a barn.”

Whitney then fell for co-star Matt Murray and they stayed in the experiment together while their partners, Duka and Gemma, went home.

After fans suggested dating co-star Chanita Stephenson, he took to his Instagram story to respond.

He wrote: ‘You must stop! Chanita and Jordan are both good friends! I’m a taken man and it’s not one of the cast members!’

By participating in an Instagram Live with Chanita, Sophie Brown and Adrian Sanderson, he revealed that he was dating someone.

Sophie asked him, “Duka, how did you meet your girlfriend?”

Duka replied by revealing that his new girlfriend is actually someone he was dating “during Covid.”

He said, “We saw each other and went through ups and downs… There’s a whole story behind it. The show made me realize what I do and don’t want.’

When Sophie asked if he had ‘lit’ an ‘old flame’, Duka replied, ‘Yes, so to speak.’

After the show’s finale, Duka took to Instagram to reflect on the experiment and thank the fans.

He wrote: ‘What a journey it has been! With a smile on my face and with my head held high, I can be proud of how I have behaved as a man. I can be proud of my principles and who I am!

“I’ve made some lifelong friends and they know who they are. I have gained invaluable experiences that I can bring further in life.

“I’m blessed with the family and friends I have, I’m an extension of them all. I wouldn’t be half the person I am today if they weren’t there.

“Finally from the audience and viewers, the support was really overwhelming. I never thought I would get so much positivity and warmth! As a humble working class man, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.’
