Traumatized married at first sight British contestant April Banbury has dumped her reality TV husband and lives alone in her luxury London flat after her on-screen marriage backfired, MailOnline can reveal.
The 33-year-old former Miss Great Britain has already admitted she is in therapy following her ‘traumatic’ marriage to divorced father of four, George Roberts.
And she has suggested she split from the 40-year-old divorced father of four, following accusations of his “abusive,” “obsessive” and “manipulative” behavior by three former girlfriends.
Now MailOnline can reveal she has returned to her £750,000 South London apartment – without ‘husband’ George.

April said she was unable to discuss the coercive conduct allegation against Married At First Sight’s husband, George Roberts, when she was approached by MailOnline at her home on Monday.
But she seemed exhausted and upset by the aftermath of her failed “marriage,” in which the couple tied the knot in the UK and then honeymooned in the Caribbean.
The “weddings” on the show are not legally binding, but the couples make lifelong commitments to each other in a ceremony overseen by a wedding officiant.
In an Instagram post on Sunday night, April shared how she sought a reprieve from the reality TV show by dating male friend Jose Luis.

She wrote: ‘A night off from MAFS switched to a night of glitz and glamor on the country with my Josephina ballerina @josek9999.’
And on Friday, she suggested her young marriage to George in two Instagram photo posts, captioning; ‘How it started versus how it is going’.
The first photo showed Miss Great Britain 2020 hugging a very tanned George on a couch. In the second photo, she looked away as George glared at her.
Over the weekend, April went into more detail about the breakdown of her relationship with George.

She wrote, “The trauma caused by this show has made me rethink things.
“I really do and I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve been seeing a therapist ever since.”
A Channel 4 spokesperson told MailOnline: “Contributor care and safety is our priority at all times during this production and we are ensuring that robust contributor care and safety protocols are in place.
“Before, during and after filming and broadcasting, appropriate support is available for contributors, including access to our experts and an independent psychologist.”

George has also suggested that their marriage is in tatters, emphasizing the MAFS fans’ opinion that he should have tied the knot with another contestant.
The 40-year-old shared another social media post claiming he would have been a better match with Gemma Rose.
Gemma, who is married to heavily tattooed Matt Murry on the show, answered questions from her Instagram followers.
One fan wrote: ‘George or PJ would suit you better’
She replied, “George and PJ sandwich.”

George reposted her response with a crying, laughing emoji and a heart, suggesting he favored the idea.
The message came after it was announced that George was allowed to participate in the E4 show, despite three of his exes complaining to police about his alleged abusive behaviour.
Each said they had independently filed a complaint with the police about George, claiming to have been “bombed” before the relationship became “forced”.
All three said they had expressed concerns to Channel 4 after seeing Roberts in trailers for the show.
They said they flagged his “abusive, “obsessive” and “manipulative” behavior toward women.
A source from the show said they were not aware of any allegations against Roberts before he married Mrs Banbury on the TV show.
It’s not clear if filming for the show, including their wedding, had ended when the women raised the issue with Channel 4.
Channel 4 told MailOnline: ‘We work incredibly closely with our production partners to ensure that all Married at First Sight UK contributors are subject to rigorous background and psychological checks, including the most detailed police checks a production can carry out.
“Allegations of this nature are taken very seriously by Channel 4.”
