MAFS UK star Jordan reveals he is open to getting back with Chanita

MAFS UK viewers were heartbroken this week to learn that Jordan Emmett-Connelly had broken up with Chanita Stephenson after their final vows.

But in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Jordan, 29, said he remains confused about his feelings for his ex, who is also 29. He wonders if the pressure of the show is responsible for splitting it up.

He said: “I’m still open to seeing if we can rebuild on the outside, but I can’t say for sure.

“We still talk pretty much every day, but I try to be careful about how I approach things because I hurt Chanita and I feel terrible about it.

‘I’m wondering myself a little bit. Did I get the pressure of the show? Did that cloud my judgment or make me feel a certain way?

“I was very busy with the expectations of the show and because I was the perfect couple and everyone had an opinion.

“None of my feelings for Chan went away. It’s just the simple fact that I didn’t see her as “the one forever”. That’s the only reason I went to that show, to find that.’

Jordan has said he doesn’t want to make promises to Chanita that he can’t keep, but he can’t deny his feelings for her.

He said, ‘I have to be very careful, because I don’t want to hurt any more. I still want to talk to her, I still like her and I still care about her.

“I was so emotionally involved. I am not a perfect person, but a normal person with feelings and I make mistakes. I’m just trying to learn from them.’

Jordan admits that he and Chanita didn’t all go smoothly and he claims that Chan, like him, had doubts about the relationship.

He said: ‘Off camera, we had our arguments. No one sees you in the relationship 24/7 and they make a judgment based on what they have seen.

“We had our arguments like any couple and I think it was times when we were probably both in doubt. I have to make it clear that I really like Chan, to this day.

On a recent episode of the show, the pundits suggested that Jordan and Chanita really love each other, but Jordan was scared — but he disagrees.

He said, “I found that a little frustrating. I only know my true feelings. I know they are experts, but I know deep down in my heart how I feel.

“I feel like there was a lot of pressure on us to some extent to be in love and I didn’t want to be pushed into that story.

“I’m not here to be mean or to make the public feel like we were in love when we weren’t.”

Chanita had called Jordan because she hadn’t told her before that he wanted to end the relationship – after she felt he was no longer interested in it.

She had to ask him several times if he wanted to be with her and finally he admitted he didn’t want to.

Jordan said, “I’ve handled the situation really badly and I’m holding my hands against it. I don’t always manage my emotions well. Sometimes, when my emotions are high, I don’t think logically.

“I do something without thinking about it and it wasn’t my intention until I upset someone. It’s something I have to work on and it’s something that opened my eyes.

He continued: “I didn’t tell Chan how I felt before because I didn’t know where my head was. I didn’t want to end things and regret it.

“I wanted to make sure that whatever I said was 100% good for the best. But do that. I didn’t consider how that would make Chanita feel and that was not a good thing to do.

‘That’s the disturbing thing, that I upset her so much. That hurt me. I did very badly.’

Jordan added that Chanita’s claims that he cut her off are simply not true.

He said, ‘Chanita was at my house, I took her out to dinner, I sent presents to the house and I took her to the coast. I took her for a walk. We spoke every day.

“I wouldn’t think of cutting off contact with her.”

Jordan has said that he has avoided some episodes of MAFS UK because he can’t bear to relive the moments when he hurt Chanita.

“I’m absolutely devastated by what happened,” he said.

“I had this whole picture. I was convinced that this was all going to work for me. In the beginning, when we went on our honeymoon, I really thought: this is it.’

“But as things progressed, I really had to be true to myself and express my feelings.

“I promise you, it really hurts me to have upset someone so much. It’s not fun and I don’t like it.’

Despite everything that has happened, Jordan says he doesn’t regret going to the show.

‘I don’t regret anything. That show is an eye opener. You learn about yourself and relationships. I fell in love with someone. That was the whole purpose behind the end.

“I wouldn’t say I loved them if I didn’t, or to please everyone. If I don’t really feel it deep in my heart, I can’t drag anyone through it if it isn’t right.”

“Chanita means a lot to me. I just can’t change how I feel deep inside. If I could change my feelings, I’d love to. It would be the best story to meet someone on that show, but I can’t.’
