MAFS stars Domenica and Ella blast next season’s fame-hungry participants

Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding know better than anyone the hardships of Married At First Sight.

But the two women were less than impressed by the “crying groom” in the leaked trailer for the show’s upcoming season.

Speak to them Sit With Us podcast this week, the couple took aim at the crying groom for his exaggerated emotions.

“I just don’t understand what that is,” Dom said. “It’s not that emotional, come on. Maybe he’s already doing it for show.

Ella was also unimpressed, saying fans may be in for a “weird” season, adding: “Most of the cast already has 100,000 followers.”

Dom went on to say that she believed that’s why it’s been speculated that people only use MAFS for fame.

‘[It’s coming back up again] that people only go to the show for fame and followers,” she said.

“That makes me really sad because I actually went there to find someone,” she added. ‘As we know. It’s really damn hard.’

In the thriller, which premiered during Channel Nine’s Upfronts, the show’s tenth series looks set to be an emotional journey for one groom.

At the beginning of the clip, Perth wedding celebrant Jesse Burford is seen wearing a pink suit, standing by the altar.

Burford is a household name on the metalcore music scene and has been performing since he was 11 years old.

Jesse has previously hosted Bingo nights, corporate events and XXX adult comic shows.

Friends describe him as a “really nice guy” who is “super chill, thoughtful, honest and down to earth.”

The tenth season of Married At First Sight will premiere on Nine next year.
