MAFS star Dean Wells was dumped by management over ‘misleading’ drag queen post
Former Married At First Sight star Dean Wells has been fired by his management after posting a doctored photo criticizing a drag queen story time event.
The 44-year-old reality star came under fire this week when she shared a photoshopped flyer on Instagram advertising a performance by Sydney drag queen Charisma Belle at the Manly Library for children aged three and under.
The ‘misleading’ version Dean shared featured a doctored image of Charisma vulgarly spreading her legs with a heel in her crotch.

“The Drag Queen Story Time will feature stories and songs that celebrate family, love and being yourself,” the flyer read.
‘Story Time will be followed by a creative craft for attendees to keep. Suitable for children from 3 years.
When Dean shared it, he added a lengthy statement condemning the event.
Our tax dollars are being used to fund a thing called “Drag Queen Story Time” where drag queens go to our libraries and schools and are paid to read to children as young as three, usually about gender identity and from a gender perspective. left extremist. ,’ he wrote.
“Honestly, I don’t understand what the cultural benefit of this is and I think it’s sending mixed messages to kids.”

Dean also said that “being a drag queen is inherently sexual” and that some have “serious mental disorders that need to be treated.”
The post caused a huge backlash online, with Dean eventually removing it from his page.
Charisma Belle, the drag queen hired to perform at the event, also responded to the outrage in a lengthy statement of her own.
“Another straight man telling people how to behave and dissecting a community with which they have had very limited experience,” Charisma wrote.

The artist said calling drag art ‘sexual’ was ‘laughable’ before slamming Dean for sharing a doctored image.
“You went through my Instagram page on purpose to find the most ‘sexual’ image you could, to simulate a fake advertisement for the event.” He deliberately misrepresented the situation and misled his followers,” Charisma wrote.
‘Story Time is not just about the kids. It’s about the whole family. After reading to the children, I spend time talking with the parents and answering any questions that may arise,’ they explained.
‘Story Time is for parents who want their children to grow up to be well-adjusted human beings. At a story hour I facilitated, there was a boy who loved to wear sequins and sparkly shoes. His father invited him to story time to show him that he is not alone. He will see, just like you and me, Story Time also has many benefits and facets.’

Charisma also claimed that the event could “save lives” and that is why it was being funded by taxpayers.
‘You seem to be quite concerned about the taxpayer. I remind you that we all pay taxes, the parents of the children who attend have paid their fair share and are obviously happy that the event exists,” said Charisma.
“The little we get paid for such events won’t build a house or stop hunger, but it could help build a protective environment for LGBTIQA children later in life.” These small events could even save lives.’
Following the backlash, Dean’s management agency Stage Addiction dropped him.
“As a queer-owned company, Stage Addiction has always and always will celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community,” they said in a statement.
“The deeply hurtful comments made today by Dean Wells do not align with our values and as such we have parted ways.”
