MAFS star announces social media break following death threats

Jessika Power recently announced a social media hiatus after years of death threats and “nasty” backlash.

The reality star, who rose to fame on season six of Married At First Sight in 2019, opened up to her 370,000 followers about her need for a break.

“So I’ve been asked “Why do you have free time on social media” and this is my reason… I’ve been doing media, events, radio, articles, television and podcasts since 2019,” she wrote before going into detail on her hardships .

“I’ve been hated, I’ve had death threats, my family has been abused, my bad relationships have been destroyed by the media. My family’s life is shared with everyone.

“I’ve spoken up, I’ve enjoyed it, I’ve hated it, I’ve benefited from it and there’s never been a day where I’ve gone ‘Okay, enough and I need a break’ and it seems the second, I do the nasty comments about why I’m doing it and the rest of the bull$it.’

The Big Brother VIP star then explained that she had to go away for a while due to her mental health.

“I love you all and I know I have the most amazing support here but I think I have reached a point where I will either damage my mental health or just withdraw,” she wrote.

Despite this, Jess admitted that she loves sharing her life online and has no plans to stop influencing and posting permanently.

“I’m always transparent with you guys so I felt I wanted to explain so I wouldn’t worry you all the time,” she shared.

“People always think posting on social media and making money from it is ‘super easy and lazy’ but the emotional aspect and the way it mentally exhausts you every day is fkn hard!” she continued.

‘BUT I’ll be back and better, I have so many great projects to share and show you all! I just needed a break.’

Jessika became one of the most hated women in Australia during her time on Married At First Sight after cheating on ‘Farmer Mick’ Gould with Brisbane bad boy Dan Webb.

However, she was able to use the platform to launch a successful career as an OnlyFans model and influencer and has since starred on Big Brother VIP and UK’s Celebs Go Dating.

She’s not the only MAFS contestant to get kickbacks and trolls.

Intruder bride Tayla Winter and single mom Alyssa Barmonde have both been ruthlessly duped by viewers of the series, with many of their co-stars coming forward to claim that the couple may have been poorly fitted.

Since announcing her hiatus on social media, Jess has revealed that she has been approached by adult magazine Playboy to host a meet and audition as a Playboy Bunny.

The 30-year-old shared a DM she received on Instagram from the magazine’s official page.

The message read, “Hello honey! I’m Sofia, playboy bunny and recruiter for Playboy… We’re looking for new bunnies who think you’d be perfect.’

Jessika obscured the actual offer and kept what she may be doing for the brand a secret.

She added in her own caption, “Can confirm I received a text last night to make an appointment.”

The reality TV star is no stranger to posting racy photos online and started an OnlyFans account in August 2021.

Jessika is one of Australia’s most successful stars on the adult platform. She described her staggering earnings in her best and worst months during an interview on the Playtime Podcast.

“The worst month is $30,000,” Jess told the shocked hosts. “But my best month is $110,000.”

She previously revealed that she made a whopping $50,000 in her first five days on the platform.

Jessika, who once claimed she had a sugar daddy, admitted she regretted not signing up for the website sooner.

“I wish I had started it a year ago because then I would be rich,” she confessed.

The blonde beauty can also turn down other work thanks to her OnlyFans income – a luxury she didn’t have after finishing the sixth series of MAFS.

Jess admitted she “needed [endorsement] deals and shit to pay for my life” after she first stepped out of Married At First Sight in 2019.

Outside of OnlyFans, Jess earns more money from endorsement deals and sponsored social media posts.

She recently became the new face of Celebrity Slim and helped the weight-loss company launch its low-calorie wine range.

Jessika is also one of the most successful stars of Married At First Sight in terms of subsequent TV appearances.

She was a housemate of Big Brother Australia VIP 2 and appeared on the British reality show Celebs Go Dating after moving to England in 2021.

Jessika was linked to on-screen husband Mick Gould on the 2019 season of Married At First Sight, but the romance ended in a cheating scandal.
