Married At First Sight star Sebastian Guilhaus’ new bail bid to serve as ‘role model’ to addicts shot down in Supreme Court
Married At First Sight star Sebastian Guilhaus has lost his application to volunteer with recovering addicts after the South Australian Supreme Court dismissed his application.
The 36-year-old reality star, who is due to appear in court in October charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, appealed the District Court’s original decision not to allow him to act as a “role model” at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
However, on Wednesday, Judge Anne Bampton, speaking for the SCSA, questioned whether his “cautionary tale” would be of value to members of Narcotics Anonymous.
Brampton also questioned whether Guilhaus’ request to further relax the strict conditions of his home-based bail was the right decision.
“I’ve never seen an apartment hotel with gym access get a house arrest bond like this agreement,” Brampton told him.
“This is an agreement that stands out from many other agreements – in fact from most agreements that I have seen in the time that I have practiced before the criminal court.”
Brampton added that Guilhaus’ bail conditions were “more flexible” than most others and that she would not grant his request.
In May, it was reported that Guilhaus would appear in court to face a serious drug trafficking charge.

Guilhaus, who starred in the seventh series of the popular Channel 9 dating show, pleaded not guilty to trafficking a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug in the District Court of South Australia.
As Guilhaus stood in the dock before Judge Paul Muscat, he said in a soft voice “not guilty” after the charges were read out to him.
The charges stem from a police operation on Guilhaus’ Croydon home in July last year, during which officers allegedly seized around 1kg of methamphetamine with a street value of around $90,000.

In the 2020 season, he was described as a “personal trainer” and his profile described him as “eccentric and crazy.”
“His character is at odds with his appearance – 6ft 3in with an athletic, muscular body – and he fears that while women may find his looks beautiful, they won’t accept his inner self,” the profile reads.
He teamed up with his bride Lizzie Sobinoff, but the couple split in 2021. After his stint on MAFS, Guilhaus turned his attention to making adult content.
