Married At First Sight British star Peggy Lawrence has been branded ‘disrespectful’ and ‘disgusting’ over her treatment of her husband Georges Berthonneau.
The tech risk partner, 32, was paired with the gamer, 30, at the E4 show and their tumultuous relationship played out in excruciating style as she criticized him for his precarious employment status.
Despite reiterating that he had put his personal training business on hold to appear on the show, both Peggy and her beloved parents – with whom she still lives as a three-year-old – have criticized his employment status, leading to heavy criticism.
A slew of followers commented on a host of her Instagram photos to criticize the family for their treatment of Georges, but Peggy quickly hit back.
In one of her responses, Peggy wrote, “I never asked for a millionaire. I have always worked since I left school and I wanted my husband to at least have a job.’

Earlier this week, Georges stayed at Peggy’s house in Kent, but was not allowed to stay in her bedroom under her father Jim’s strict rules about their home.
Fans were shocked by the rule considering their marital status, while the floodgates soon opened on the ongoing debate over his work.
On Instagram, Georges’ jobs are listed as online coach, content creator, gamer and model – all of which Peggy and her family have objected to – something which led to an outpouring of anger in the comments.
One follower commented on a photo of her and Georges and wrote: ‘Please don’t make a decision about Georges based on your mother and father’s opinions…
“There’s no guarantee that you’ll get the ‘respect’ you say you want from the millionaire they want to hook you up with.” So sad to see how they spoke to Georges tonight.”
Peggy then replied, “I never asked for a millionaire.” I’ve always worked since I left school and I wanted my husband to at least have a job.’
