Married At First Sight expert John Aiken has his final say on the couples ahead of explosive reunion finale – and reveals who he thought would split

Married At First Sight expert John Aiken has given his final thoughts on the season 11 couples ahead of the expected reunion on Sunday night.

The former cricketer, 53, appeared on Today to reveal which couples he was shocked stayed together during last week’s Final Vows.

As four couples left the show holding hands, John said he was stunned to see Sara Mesa and Tim Calwell last until the end.

‘I was very surprised with Sara and Tim because they went behind his back. “I caught up with the ex she had feelings for,” he said.

John went on to say that he believed Tim was “too forgiving” of her actions, revealing that he didn’t think Sara could change her behavior and admit her betrayal.

“She really did the hard work, putting him first and fixing him. “I thought that was the most surprising part of the experiment,” he added.

The other couple that John thought wouldn’t make it to the Final Vows was the controversial couple of Tori Adams and Jack Dunkley.

“He was one of the guys who said some things that absolutely shocked not only the group but the experts,” he said, referring to the “muzzle your wife” comments.

John revealed that the experts all expected Tori to leave the experiment because Jack was ‘too toxic’, but were shocked to see her ‘defending’ him every week.

It comes just hours after it was reported that the stars of MAFS are in hot water with Channel Nine after enjoying a boozy night in Sydney after filming the reunion.

Despite producers reportedly not wanting the cast at ‘meetings’ before the show’s final results have aired, Ny Breaking Australia can reveal a bevy of brides and grooms from the show stepped out to celebrate Michael Felix’s birthday.

Lucinda Light, Cassandra Allen, Timothy Smith, Tristan Black, Eden Harper, Andrea Thompson, Stephen Stewart, Jade Pywell, Ash Galati and Natalie Parham were all in attendance.

Jonathan McCullough and fellow bride Ellie Dix also showed up.

There was no tension between Ellie and her jilted ex Ben, as they laughed off their ill-fated romance as he introduced the cast to his new German girlfriend, Aileen.

The cast had been placed in different hotels by producers in Sydney so as not to spoil the ending ahead of the reunion airing on Channel Nine on April 7 and 8.
