Married At First Sight star Harrison Boon has spoken out about the impact his ‘rogue edit’ had on his girlfriend Gina.
The 32-year-old builder revealed that Gina, 29, was shocked to see him in such a negative way on the show, as she had never seen that side of him before.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Harrison said the situations on the show were staged in such a way that his on-screen persona was not even close to his actual character.
“She’s never seen that side of me and she probably never will,” he said.
“Like, I don’t go around calling people out and arguing in my day-to-day life. It’s not who I am. I just want to interact with people and get the best out of life.’

Harrison explained that the show’s main purpose is to create drama and arguments, something the viewing public doesn’t understand.
“They want people standing up for themselves and creating the conflict,” he said.
That’s the whole point of MAFS – arguments, outbursts, that’s the show. We all tune into that.’

Harrison also offered some advice for those considering going on the show.
“Go into it with eyes wide open and don’t let the production guide you,” said the father of one.
He warned that getting a “s**tty edit” could lead to serious personal and professional consequences, and the chances of becoming a likeable character are slim.
“You really have somewhere between a half and 25 percent chance of being a main character, even less of being a good one,” he said.
“There’s a one in 24 chance you’ll be the villain of the season, and there’s a 12 in 24 chance you’ll be a great supporting character.”
Harrison also offered some advice for those considering going on the show. “Go into it with eyes wide open and don’t let the production guide you,” said the father of one

“You will get these horrible stories written about you, podcasters with no conscience will come out and slander you. It’s not a good place to be.’
“It’s not a platform that will make you famous,” he explained. “Like, it opens doors, but it also closes a lot.”
The 2024 season of Married At First Sight is currently in pre-production.
