MAFS groom Jesse Burford reveals the truth about his marriage to ‘cheating’ Claire Nomarhas

Married at First Sight’s boyfriend Jesse Burford has opened up about his experience on the show and his doomed marriage to Claire Nomarhas.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the Perth marriage celebrant, 30, revealed what really happened after his girlfriend Claire, 31, kissed her partner Adam Seed during a wild night out, saying she begged the producers to let him leave the show, but they wouldn’t. Allow it.

‘You can’t just walk off the set. You cannot leave the apartments and take your own flight. You can not do that. They wave the contract in your face,” she said.

I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say this right now, but I did the best I could and said, once I found out about the kiss, we went to dinner that weekend and I said to Claire, ‘I want to go home, I’ve done with this. I want to go back to Perth.”

“The commitment ceremony was the next night, and she still writes ‘stay,’ and it still weighs on me.”

‘Like, if you really wanted to make it up to me, why didn’t you honor my request? It was not a lawsuit. I wanted to go home.’

Jesse said he thinks Claire kept writing ‘stay’ at commitment ceremonies to ‘take care of herself’.

Why couldn’t you honor me like this? Why did you make me stay and I can’t stop her from doing it to take care of herself and it’s not just this random thought that’s in my head, are there other things that happened that support that thought?

Jesse believes that Claire convinced him to stay because he needed a “redemption arc.”

She also believes that the producers pressured her into finally confessing to cheating.

In the explosive interview, Jesse revealed that he was ‘shocked’ to see their tumultuous relationship play out on screen, with Claire portrayed as an angel, despite her ‘crazy things’ on set such as ‘cheating’ and ‘gaslighting’. ‘.

Jesse admitted that he assumed he wouldn’t get a ‘villain’ edit during filming, and was dismayed to find out his assumptions were dead wrong when the show aired.

“I was surprised to see how our relationship developed on screen. I remember thinking to myself, ‘I don’t have to worry one bit if I’m going to be a villain, because [Claire] just said some crazy things.

‘And here I am looking at our honeymoon six months later, and they don’t show any of it!’

Although Jesse did not witness any favoritism from the production firsthand, he said he felt a “weird sixth sense that something just didn’t feel right” during filming.

“For some reason they chose her to be the angel of the season,” he said.

‘[Claire] she’s a super villain on a silver platter, and they’re like, ‘No, we’ll take care of her. She is almost criminal. The imbalance and injustice, I can’t even explain it to you, man,’ she complained.

Jesse said he had trouble watching the show, particularly because he had no support system to help him cope with his emotions, and no one who could empathize with his experience.

Why Jesse stopped watching MAFS:

Jesse explains that he stopped watching the show after episode four because of the way it portrayed him as a “misogynist”, while refusing to show Claire’s bad behavior on the honeymoon.

“I had a bunch of friends text me and say, ‘Hey, I hope you’re okay.

‘But you know, out of 100% that I’m experiencing, texting from your friends, as much as I appreciate it and be grateful for it, really only reduces my suffering by a very small amount, no one can really empathize with my experience.’

And that even goes down to the cast members, because none of them went through a cheating scandal, were denied the chance to leave and were pressured by production to forgive and move on and had suspicions that their partner is not here because of the right reasons.

‘You know, it was so hard watching this back. And mentally I absolutely struggled. I actually stopped watching after the first four episodes.

Jesse also lifted the lid on a pivotal moment during filming that never made it to air.

“It was obvious between the production, Claire and I that we were pretty much honeymoon partners and there was no real romance,” he explained.

“I was the first to mention that with Claire [to start] what I hoped was a conversation.

‘[I said] ‘Let’s see what we can do to improve the romance here.’ He was greeted with a full defense. And honestly, she got really mad at that point.

“She got very defensive and very combative. He even accused me of cheating on her because I said, ‘Why are you getting so mad about this? There is not much romance here. Let’s see what we can do about it.”

‘And she says ‘why are you so defensive?’ And she says, ‘I’m not getting defensive. You’re fooling me”.

‘What, how ironic is that? Yes. How ironic is that? She would accuse me of cheating on her. I’m going crazy.’
