MAFS finale: Jesse Burford goes rogue in tell-all interview

MAFS star Jesse Burford has opened up about his experience on the show — and his doomed marriage to Claire Nomarhas — in his least-leaked interview to date.

Breaking his contract with Channel Nine to speak exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, the 30-year-old marriage celebrant from Perth made a series of explosive revelations, including the shocking insult his wife used against him on their honeymoon.

He also shared for the first time how his partner Adam Groom felt so bad about kissing Claire behind her back that he bought her an “apology gift” to make it up to him.

Jesse admitted he was “shocked” to see how his tumultuous relationship with Claire played out on screen, with the kindergarten assistant portrayed as an angel despite her “crazy” and two-faced behavior behind the scenes.

He also said that he “doesn’t believe for one second” that Claire liked or respected him, despite his praise in on-camera interviews.

But perhaps the most crushing part of the whole experience was seeing himself portrayed as the “villain”, at least at the beginning of the season, saying that it was “strange to see a completely different version of events shown on TV”. .

‘It was so strange to see [and] go through all that filming experience, then to see what [MAFS viewers] are saying about me and how it just doesn’t match,” he said.

In particular, Jesse was disappointed that two pivotal moments of their honeymoon were left on the cutting room floor.

‘There were two things [left out] that really bothered me,’ she said, referring to the incidents on their honeymoon.

‘Claire made a comment about the age request during casting. She wanted someone older and I wanted someone younger.

‘She made a comment about me saying [I wanted someone] younger, which I was incredibly offended by, so take what you want from that.’

Jesse also revealed that Claire accused him of being on the autism spectrum, which he is not, after they argued over minor topics like his interest in astrology.

‘While you insult me, [Claire] he made fun of a minority that exists, disadvantaged people, and I have family friends who suffer because of that,’ he said.

Jesse was disappointed that it didn’t air on TV, as it would have shown another side of Claire’s personality that was buried in post-production.

He was also surprised by Claire’s confrontational attitude, saying, “Just because I’m calling it what it is, doesn’t mean I don’t like you.” Doesn’t mean this has to be a fight.

Adam Seed makes amends

Elsewhere in the interview, Jesse revealed how boyfriend Adam Seed tried to make amends after kissing Claire behind her back.

“Adam bought me an apology gift,” she revealed.

He bought me tickets to a heavy metal show in Perth. I couldn’t make it, but I texted him and said, “Bro, something came up and I want you to know that I really appreciate the gift, but I can’t make it to the show.”

“If there was another conversation between him and me, it would have been him apologizing, because every time we touched base, since filming MAFS, he always said sorry, over and over and over again,” he added. .

What Jesse expected to find in MAFS

When asked what he was looking for in a MAFS partner, Jesse made it clear that he wanted someone he could have a “two-sided conversation” with.

“I’m looking for someone who listens as much as they talk,” he explained, in a sly reference to Claire’s big mouth.

“I want someone who admires me, who respects me, who wants to be around me, who wants to show me off to people.”

I’ve had ex-girlfriends who kept me a secret for two years. I’ve got a lot of cargo to show, man. I think I’m a pretty interesting guy.

Jesse planned to walk into the meeting with Janelle.

Jesse also revealed that she had planned to participate in the MAFS reunion as a “couple” with her friend and co-star Janelle Han.

Janelle was ‘married’ to Adam, who kissed Claire, and she and Jesse bonded over the shared experience of being cheated on.

“Janelle and I were going to go in together as a joke and get everyone,” he said.

‘Cause how funny [would it be] “Adam and Claire trick us and then hit us, Janelle and I went in together, but the production didn’t want it,” he added.

“We thought it was a cool idea… [but] They said, “No, I don’t want it.” I cancelled it.
