MAFS’ Domenica Calarco rallies around I’m A Celebrity co-star Harry Garside after his devastating Olympics loss: ‘I’m so proud of you’

Domenica Calarco has rallied behind her I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! colleague Harry Garside following his devastating loss at the Olympics on Monday.

Garside’s dream of winning the gold medal in boxing in Paris was snatched from his grasp after he lost his first fight in the men’s 63.5kg weight class to Hungarian Richard Kovacs in a unanimous decision.

Married At First Sight star Domenica, 31, posted an Instagram Story on Monday supporting the fight with Harry, 27, through a series of photos and clips.

A photo showed Domenica getting ready for the match, wearing a hoodie that read “Team Garside” and drinking coffee.

Below the image is the caption ‘Let’s f***ing go’

She then showed a short video of a laptop streaming the match and Harry and his opponent walking to the ring.

The excitement reached a fever pitch with Domenica, who captioned the clip: “I had to turn the sound off because I was screaming.”

A second photo, of Harry in the ring preparing for his match against Kovacs, was captioned: ‘@harrygarside we are all proud of you from your family’. Domenica also tagged her I’m A Celebrity co-stars Liz Ellis, Aesha Scott, Nathan Henry, Adam Cooney, Nick Cummins, Debra Lawrence, Peter Helliar and Bianca Hunt.

Despite the outpouring of celebrity support, it wasn’t Garside’s night. But that didn’t stop Domenica from offering her unwavering support.

She shared a second video showing the boxer’s heartbreaking post-match interview.

“Australia is such a sporting nation. I’m really, really sorry, to be honest. I feel like a failure right now,” the dejected fighter said in the clip.

Domenica told Harry in the clip that the way he conducted himself in the run-up to his Olympic campaign was “a testament to class.”

‘This guy right here, @harrygarside, I am so f***ing proud of you. The way you have held yourself together throughout your Olympic preparation to this point and beyond. TOTAL CLASS.’

Harry’s Australian co-stars from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are supporting the boxer in 2023 after he was cleared of all domestic abuse charges.

The 25-year-old was arrested by police at Sydney airport in May after returning from South Africa, where he had been filming the Channel 10 reality show.

The athlete celebrated his achievement with his fellow competitors after several competitors went to dinner at Rick Shores in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.

Aesha Scott, Domenica Calarco, Nathan Henry, Anna Polyviou and her girlfriend, plus Adam Cooney and his wife Haylea were all in attendance.
