Right-wing MAFS star Dean Wells ruffles feathers with a controversial take on International Women’s Day: “Is this legit?”
Outspoken MAFS star Dean Wells shared a controversial post about International Women’s Day on Wednesday.
The 44-year-old woman shared an image on Instagram with the phrase “Happy International Day of the Person with the Uterus”, which is not an official day.
While it’s unclear what political point Dean was trying to make, the post may be suggesting that the term ‘woman’ is used too liberally these days and that biological women, who have wombs, are being marginalized by trans women.
‘Is this legit?’ one of Dean’s followers commented on the post.
Another took the culture wars bait, commenting: ‘Happy day to anyone, anyone who is a woman today. It’s not a biology based day so it’s based on nothing but feelings.

‘Those who feel like being honored today, please be honored.’
A third commented, “I’m not sure if he meant this was inclusive or sarcastic… but not everyone with a uterus identifies as female.”
It comes after Dean broke his silence after he was dropped by his management for criticizing a taxpayer-funded drag queen storytelling event in Sydney.
The former reality star came under fire last month after she shared a photoshopped flyer advertising a performance by Sydney drag queen Charisma Belle at the Manly Library for children aged three and under.
Dean edited the original flyer to include an unrelated image taken from Charisma’s Instagram feed showing the artist vulgarly spreading her legs with a heel in her crotch.
He accompanied this with a caption condemning the event and labeling the drag performances “inherently sexual”, sparking outrage among critics.

In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, Dean doubled down on his belief that drag performances are inappropriate for young children and should not be paid for by the government.
Dean said that he respects the “LGBTQ2S+ community” and that his original post had nothing to do with targeting queer people.
Rather, he was expressing his doubts about the ‘benefits’ of exposing young children to open expressions of sexuality, whether through events with drag queens, dominatrices or strippers.
LGBTQ2S+ is an acronym that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, and two spirit.

“I am in no way transphobic, homophobic or hateful,” said Dean, who has five gay family members and a professional mentor who is gay.
‘My post was about one thing. Is it appropriate for three-year-olds to be exposed to advanced sexual and gender ideologies? Personally, I think around the age of 12 is more suitable for that kind of thing.’
‘I was curious to know what others thought. After this is all a taxpayer-funded event in my neighbourhood, I think I have a right to ask that question,” added the executive from the Manly-based creative agency.
