MAFS villain Daniel Holmes defends Collins Christian after viewers slammed his ‘terrible acting’

Former Married At First Sight villain Daniel Holmes has sided with groom Collins Christian after viewers dragged his portrayal onto the dating show.

The ex reality TV star, who appeared in season nine of the Channel Nine series, came to Collins’ defense and exposed the ableist language of a swarm of online trolls.

Taking to Instagram, Daniel called out the cheeky social media comments about Collins’ personality.

“I gotta say one thing, man. Hello audience, relax a little. Relax,” he said.

“For example, look at this Collins guy. I understand that the public doesn’t like him. But when you watch a video posted of him, you look at the top comments and think, “Oh, yeah, this guy is definitely autistic.” Wow.’

He continued, “The second top comment is like, “Yes, this guy is definitely gay, but he doesn’t know it yet.”

‘This poor bastard comes off MAFS, looks at his online presence and says, ‘Great. Now everyone thinks I’m gay and autistic.’

“He just signed up for a bloody show, he didn’t fucking kill anyone. Relaxed.’

MAFS viewers have taken to social media to highlight groom Collins Christian’s ‘terrible acting’ in the series, even going as far as to question how he ended up on the show.

During Sunday night’s shock episode, the 28-year-old collided with relationship expert John Aiken after his wife Natalie Parham said he wasn’t showing her affection.

Aiken, 53, asked him what he thought he should do to regain Natalie’s trust, prompting an irritated Collins to say he was the one asking for advice.

Viewers were divided over Collins’ hateful response to what should have been a serious conversation and took to social media to voice their opinions.

“Collins won’t even get a job on Home and Away with this acting,” one fan joked.

‘Is Collins going for a Razzie on MAFS for the worst overacting of all time? At this rate he’s ready for an appearance on Days of Our Lives,” a second user added.

MAFS viewers have taken to social media to criticize groom Collins Christian’s ‘terrible acting’ in the series, even going as far as to question how he ended up on the show.

“Serious question: How the heck did Collins get through the auditions?” a third person asked, while another wrote, “I think Collins is trying to get into NIDA.”

However, others supported Collins’ approach and praised him for his ability to put on a show.

“Collins, best actor award for MAFS 2024,” one supporter wrote, and another added: “Someone call The Academy: Collins is making a bid for an Oscar.”

Natalie and Collins have since quit the series after she accused him of faking his emotions towards her so he could stay on the show.

Collins told Nat he wanted to fight for their relationship because he enjoyed their wedding day – and he was absolutely stunned by her reaction.

“Can you tell me how many times we’ve been together, besides the wedding day that made you happy?” she asked.

“Oh, every moment I see you I’m happy and that’s why I put ‘stay’,” Collins responded.

However, Natalie was having none of it and accused him of feigning his affection for her so he could stay in the dating experiment.

‘This feels like an Oscar performance. “I’m sorry, I can’t listen to you without hearing an orchestra,” she shot back.

“I can’t communicate with someone who talks to me like we’re on the set of Neighbors or Home and Away.”

She then told Christian that she was leaving the experiment because she had ultimately decided that they would never be compatible.

“It just feels so manufactured. If this is really you, then you are not someone who gives me energy,” she said.

“I don’t see us getting romantically involved, I’m sure. It’s time for me to go.’

A devastated Collins was then seen wishing Natalie all the best before leaving their hotel room for the final time.

It comes after Ny Breaking Australia spotted the Melbourne physiotherapist storming out of the Skye Suites with her suitcase before heading to the airport on August 17.

Collins and Natalie were quickly removed from the program and returned home less than two days after the final commitment ceremony was filmed.

According to a spy, the pair ended on ‘bad terms’ and things don’t get much better at the reunion as they end up arguing on camera.
