Married At First Sight 2024: Cocky groom Ridge describes himself as ‘gorgeous’ and cracks immature jokes with his friends during cringe-worthy ‘frat boy’ vows

Married At First Sight groom Ridge Barredo left viewers cringing when he started joking with his friends during his awkward vows on Tuesday’s episode.

The professional weightlifter, 27, married Jade Pywell, 26, but was accused of being ‘immature’ by his bride’s sister Jasmine as he walked around in his vows.

The cocky groom also boldly called himself “gorgeous” as he introduced himself to his new wife, causing the wedding party to cringe.

Arriving at the ceremony, he first tried to break the ice by saying he needed a drink, which led to laughter from the audience.

After introducing himself to his bride-to-be’s loved ones, he said, “Anyone fancy a drink?” Yes, I’ll take two!’

As she headed to the wedding, single mum Jade warned: ‘If he’s cocky I won’t be able to hide my facial expressions, he’ll know straight away.’

He then went on to talk about how “beautiful” the day was, prompting his friend to shout, “Not as beautiful as you,” while Ridge responded, “Say it louder, brother!”

Ridge was excited when he saw his new bride, but couldn’t stop saying the catchphrase he and his friends made up to describe things.

Ridge bizarrely said to the camera about his bride, “She’s beautiful, just like a man, decccc!”

During his vows, he doubled down as he said, “I know the experts had their work cut out for me to find the perfect match, but for now, guys, give us a deccc!”

He also described himself as ‘gorgeous’ during the vows before cracking jokes, leaving his bride Jade’s sister Jasmine very unimpressed.

He said: ‘I would say I was kind, caring, compassionate and beautiful, but that’s just scratching the surface.

“As a husband and partner, I promise to give you a solid shoulder to cry on, hopefully not because of me.”

However, speaking to the camera, Jasmine said: “Ridge making jokes and stuff wasn’t the best thing for Jade.”

“He may seem a bit immature to Jade, it’s not what she expected,” she added. “It’s a student atmosphere, and we don’t want that.”

Ridge also promised to provide “safety and security” in their relationship, before bizarrely adding, “because I know you girls like that kind of thing.”
