MAFS bride is stunned to silence when asked if couples are ‘faking it’

A Married At First Sight star was left speechless when asked during a live television interview if some couples are faking their relationships for publicity.

Lyndall Grace appeared on additional today on Monday to discuss last night’s commitment ceremony, in which Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon reversed their decision to part ways by agreeing to stay in the experiment for another week.

There has been speculation that Bronte and Harrison made a secret pact to stay on the show to boost their profiles, despite knowing for weeks that their marriage was doomed.

Host David Campbell asked Lyndall, 27, who expressed shock and disappointment at Bronte’s decision on Sunday, if he suspected the couple had only voted to stay on to extend their airtime.

The question stunned her into silence for six extremely uncomfortable seconds.

Lyndall appeared on Today Extra to discuss last night’s commitment ceremony, in which Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon somersaulted on their decision to part ways by agreeing to stay in the experiment. When David Campbell (left, with Sylvia Jeffreys) asked if they “said to stay just to stay on TV,” Ella Lyndall was stunned into silence for a very awkward six seconds.

The awkwardness began when David’s co-host, Sylvia Jeffreys, asked Lyndall, ‘Do you like Harrison?’

She squirmed, then looked away from the camera and said, ‘Next question.’

David then asked, ‘Okay, do you think they said stay alone to stay on TV?’

A long silence followed as Lyndall, who was being interviewed via video link from Perth, thought through her response.

“I don’t think so,” he sighed after six seconds of radio silence.

The accountant then explained that Harrison “always has a trick up his sleeve” and was able to get Bronte to stay by convincing her that she had to “get him back”.

“He really made her feel like she had to redeem herself for him,” Lyndall explained.

‘[He] really made her feel that if she didn’t try to mend things with him, it would look bad in [her].

Bronte (right) shocked relationship experts and other couples at Sunday’s commitment ceremony when she voted to stay, revealing she was still ‘falling for’ Harrison (left), even though he had dumped her via text message text days before. Harrison agreed with her wife’s decision and chose to stay as well, smugly telling her that she was giving Bronte a chance to ‘redeem’ herself.

“When you’re in that position and you don’t have any control over anything, I think she really committed to trying to get him back on her side.”

Relationship expert John Aiken (pictured) was bowled over by Bronte’s decision and begged her to help him ‘understand’ the reasoning behind it.

You texted me two days ago telling me that you’d had enough and that you were done with Harrison. We’re all confused,” her fellow girlfriend Claire Nomarhas (pictured) told Bronte.

‘As a Bronte confidante, I am incredulous about what I am hearing. I sit here and I feel fucking stupid,” added a furious Lyndall.

Bronte told experts they did not understand “what happened behind closed doors,” adding that she and Harrison had worked things out in private.

“I don’t think Harrison emotionally manipulated my feelings. My relationship with him is absolutely real,” she said.
