MAFS boss reveals they wish Jayden Eynaud didn’t make THAT confession as it changed his fate on the show: ‘It derailed his story arc’
A Married At First Sight producer has revealed the crew were blindsided by groom Jayden Eynaud’s shocking confession – and wished he hadn’t done it.
During Tuesday night’s shocking episode, bride Eden Harper’s marriage was turned upside down after her husband Jayden revealed he had entered into a sex pact with his ex.
Jayden admitted he gave his cheating ex another chance, on one condition: he had to have sex with her best friend while she watched.
MAFS executive producer John Walsh told Chattr that they never expected the shock development and would have preferred if Jayden had kept it to himself.
‘The stories go in different directions that we never anticipated. We have a hero character this year where he revealed a story during Confessions Week,” he began, referring to Jayden.

He then said that the breathtaking confession suddenly changed Jayden’s perception from an all-around good person to a more complicated one.
“We said, ‘Mate. I wish you hadn’t told that story.’ Because it suddenly goes off the rails, temporarily or otherwise, his story continues.’
“You see him one way for the first few weeks and then he says something else and you say, ‘Wow,’ and it makes you think. But that’s the show and you have to continue with it.’
Endemol Shine Australia executive producer Mollie Harwood added that it was a great television moment that highlighted the unpredictability of the show.

‘You have to trust the process and respond. You say, ‘I wish that didn’t happen, but we’re going there!'” she said.
As part of Confessions Week, Jayden and Eden were asked to write each other letters in which they opened up to reveal something personal.
Jayden, 28, admitted he was ‘really nervous about the task’ before sitting down with Eden, 26, to describe how he struck a sex pact with his ex after catching her cheating.
‘My ex-girlfriend cheated on me. She went on dinner dates, movie dates, and even had guys openly admit to me that they had slept with her,” he began.
“I told her I wanted to give her another chance, but I’m going to sleep with her best friend while she watches.”
Eden started crying as the professional kickboxer explained how one of his ex’s friends agreed to sleep with him just ‘a few days’ later.
“Do you regret that?” a visibly shaken Eden asked, to which Jayden replied: “I don’t regret it” – with Eden later admitting she found the confession “triggering.”
