MAFS begins casting new season as fans beg them to cast ‘real people’

Married At First Sight begins casting for next year’s season, as viewers plead for ‘real people’ instead of ‘actors and influencers’

As Married At First Sight approaches its final weeks, an eleventh season has already been greenlit with applications open for new boyfriends and girlfriends.

But fans of the Channel Nine reality show are asking the producers to cast people who are genuinely looking for love, and not fame-hungry influencers and actors.

The official MAFS Instagram page shared a post on Monday announcing that the show is looking for a new batch of singletons by 2023.

However, the comments on the post were not positive, as fans had apparently tired of the drama of the series and the lack of real connections between the couples.

One comment, which received over 500 likes, read: ‘Please rate people better next year. In fact, we like to see people fall in love, not be emotionally manipulated.’

Another viewer wrote: “Maybe they should consider using real people, not actors and influencers just because they look good.”

A third said: ‘I wanted to join and have applied for the last three years and have really realized it has nothing to do with finding love. You only have to be half a celebrity to be accepted and ready to create mayhem.

“It’s unfair to the people who followed me early on and saw success stories, because honestly, I’m screwed in the dating department and completely give up.”

Another viewer said that producers need to “stop encouraging bad acting and false stories” with their casting decisions.

The cast this season was filled with brides and grooms who previously starred on reality shows or already had a public following.
