Married At First Sight groom Tristan Black has opened up about his incredible transformation.
During Wednesday night’s episode of the show, the 30-year-old event manager revealed to his wife Cassandra Allen how he has struggled with weight issues in the past.
As part of Confessions Week, couples have been tasked with writing letters to each other revealing something personal.
In his heartbreaking letter, Tristan explained that his insecurities stemmed from his former obesity and that this was a major reason why he didn’t make ‘the first move’ with his new bride.
‘This was very difficult for me to write. “I want you to understand that this has affected my life for the past thirty years,” he began.

‘For our journey so far, you understand that I was very overweight in school… For a long time, I always thought that the only way a girl would love me was if I had a six-pack. Whenever I approached them or asked them out, they rejected me and laughed at me.”
Tristan noted that despite being rejected, the bullying he faced left him feeling “worthless.”
He told Cassandra that he had wanted to kiss numerous times and show more affection during the experiment, but the “fear” that she would not find him attractive held him back.

Cassandra was relieved by Tristan’s honest explanation.
“That makes so much more sense!” she said.
