Madonna looks back at 2022 with compilation videos… in promotion of Back That Up To The Beat
Before the new year that is 2023, Virgin has taken to her social media platforms to take a look back at some of the highlights of her life over the past year.
And being the master promoter she’s been for the past few decades, Material Girl posted two 2022 recap videos — one on TikTok and one via her Instagram page — promoting two versions of her dance song Back That Up To The. Beat.
While Back That Up To The Beat dates back to 2015, it’s had a resurgence since a version hit TikTok and became a huge hit last year.

2022 roundup: Madonna took to her social media platforms to share an annual review of 2022, which is part of her promotional push for her song Back That Up To The Beat
The 64-year-old pop superstar took to TikTok for the first time and released her review clip of the year titled Back That Up To The Beat – sped up version.
It begins with a man declaring, “And with that, the 2022 season draws to a close, good night,” over various clips of Madonna (born Madonna Louise Ciccone) performing on stage.
As the voiceover fades out, the up-tempo version of Back That Up To The Beat fades out with its ‘4 to the floor’ beat and up-tempo, reminiscent of house music and techno.
Promo Mode: The Material Girl first released a video on TikTok containing Back That Up To The Beat – sped up version
The setup: “And with that, the 2022 season comes to a close, goodnight,” a man can be heard saying at the top of the TikTok video.
‘We Can Dance’: As the voiceover fades out, the up-tempo version of Back That Up To The Beat fades out with its ‘4 to the floor’ beat and up-tempo.
Look back: The clip showed highlights of Madonna in 2022, many of which showed her dancing with a variety of people onstage and otherwise.
Making the rounds: Among the many performances and appearances on the compilation, there’s a clip of Madonna on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“It means I’m ready to – Move to the – Move to the – waving like a,” Madonna sings in the verse, quickly transitioning into the next section.
‘Back that up to the beat – Back that up to the beat- Bang that drum to the beat – Back that up to the beat,’ adds the singer-songwriter to the still-throbbing beat that’s synth-heavy.
For the 15-second clip, the Rebel Heart star shared a compilation of clips of herself performing, making appearances, which included a spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and spending time with family and friends.
Style: Of course, Madonna showed off her fashion sense and style in the video.

Moving to the beat: “Back that up to the beat – Back that up to the beat- Bang that drum to the beat – Back that up to the beat,” the singer-songwriter adds to the still-throbbing beat that’s synth-heavy.
Of course, the trend-setting entertainer and entertainer showed off her fabulous figure in a series of chic ensembles that spanned the soft, conservative and understated fashions, to the sexy and revealing for her stage and promotional efforts.
Not long after her TokTok post, Madonna took to her Instagram page and shared a video taken during her trip to the southeast African country of Malawi.
Along with all the footage of the many sights and smiling faces she encountered in Malawi, Madonna also posted the slower demo version of Back That Up To The Beat.

From above, Madonna can be seen driving down some dusty roads in Malawi, where she met countless locals who flashed their infectious smiles while pulling off some amazing dance moves.
All the movements and shakes fit perfectly with the beat and rhythm of this version of Back That Up To The Beat.
Another look back: The master promoter also released the demo version of Back That Up To The Beat on Instagram ahead of the new year that featured highlights from her trip to Malawi.
