Madonna looks back at 2022 with compilation videos… in promotion of Back That Up To The Beat

Before the new year that is 2023, Virgin has taken to her social media platforms to take a look back at some of the highlights of her life over the past year.

And being the master promoter she’s been for the past few decades, Material Girl posted two 2022 recap videos — one on TikTok and one via her Instagram page — promoting two versions of her dance song Back That Up To The. Beat.

While Back That Up To The Beat dates back to 2015, it’s had a resurgence since a version hit TikTok and became a huge hit last year.

The 64-year-old pop superstar took to TikTok for the first time and released her review clip of the year titled Back That Up To The Beat – sped up version.

It begins with a man declaring, “And with that, the 2022 season draws to a close, good night,” over various clips of Madonna (born Madonna Louise Ciccone) performing on stage.

As the voiceover fades out, the up-tempo version of Back That Up To The Beat fades out with its ‘4 to the floor’ beat and up-tempo, reminiscent of house music and techno.

‘Back that up to the beat – Back that up to the beat- Bang that drum to the beat – Back that up to the beat,’ adds the singer-songwriter to the still-throbbing beat that’s synth-heavy.

For the 15-second clip, the Rebel Heart star shared a compilation of clips of herself performing, making appearances, which included a spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and spending time with family and friends.

‘Back That On The Beat…in Malawi Streaming On All Platforms Now! @raisingmalawi,’ she wrote in the caption of the photo, which included a thank you to the ‘Raising Malawi’ charity.

From above, Madonna can be seen driving down some dusty roads in Malawi, where she met countless locals who flashed their infectious smiles while pulling off some amazing dance moves.

All the movements and shakes fit perfectly with the beat and rhythm of this version of Back That Up To The Beat.
