Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner ‘boasted about how excited it made him to tie up, beat and rape an older woman’
Christian Brueckner, a suspect in Madeleine McCann’s case, is said to have bragged about how excited he got from tying up, beating and raping an older woman.
Convicted pedophile and rapist Brueckner, 47 – who German investigators say abducted Madeleine, then 3, from her family’s holiday home in Portugal in 2007 – is currently on trial in Germany for a series of unrelated sex crimes.
In his current trial, Brueckner is accused of five crimes committed in the Algarve between 2000 and 2017, including three rapes and two counts of self-exposure to children.
The Braunschweig regional court hearing his case was told that Brueckner confessed to two rapes while in custody in 2019, during which he bragged about “raping an old lady”. Mirror defeated.
According to public prosecutor Vanessa Beyse, Brueckner told fellow prisoner Laurentio C. how ‘tying up and beating’ the elderly woman ‘excited him very much’.
Brueckner added that he was careful not to “leave any traces,” the German tabloid reported Image defeated.

Hazel Behan, 40, (pictured), who requested anonymity, told the court she was raped in her apartment in Praia da Rocha in 2004
Brueckner is on trial for, among other things, the alleged rape of 40-year-old Irish tour representative Hazel Behan in her apartment in Praia da Rocha in 2004.
He has also been charged with the alleged rape of a teenage girl at his home in the same city and with the rape of an elderly woman at her holiday apartment.
Brueckner is also accused of exposing himself to a German girl on a beach in Salema in April 2007 and to an 11-year-old girl in 2017.
Brueckner remains in prison for the rape of American pensioner Diana Menkes, 72, in the Algarve, but his sentence expires early next year.
According to the prosecutor, Brueckner’s descriptions of the attacks he allegedly talked about in prison in 2019 resemble what happened to Menkes and Behan.
Brueckner is also said to have told Laurentiu C., who was called by prosecutors as a new witness in the trial, that he had stolen money from the handbag of a rape victim in Portugal.
Speaking in court earlier this year, Behan reportedly said her rapist had stolen money from her bag.
Behan, who waived her anonymity, previously told the court in Braunschweig that she had been raped in June 2004 by a masked man who later whipped her and filmed her in her apartment in Praia da Rocha.
The former Irish tour guide, who burst into tears as Brueckner’s defence team brutally cross-examined her, admitted she was still bleeding as a result of the horrific sexual assault.
The defense team asked if her rapist had used lubricant when he attacked her, leaving the public gallery shocked.
Brueckner’s lawyers also claimed that DNA evidence showed she had sex with her then-boyfriend Jason Coates immediately after the brutal rape.

She said: ‘I had sex before the incident because we were a couple, and I had sex after because we were a couple and had a child, but I didn’t have sex immediately afterwards.’
Behan contacted police after recognizing a photo of Brueckner and putting out an appeal for information. When asked why she was certain it was him, she gave a terrifying response.
She said, ‘When you spend time in this situation and there’s nothing else you can see about this human being, this is the only thing you can remember. They drilled into my skull and I’ll never forget it.’
Behan, from Mullingar, Ireland, added that his eyes were completely illuminated by the black mask and tight clothing he was wearing as he raped her.
She added: ‘They were just so blue… everything so dark that he had one, so they were just like lights, they were so bright, and I just know them.’
Brueckner’s trial is expected to end in October.
