Macy Gray, 56, becomes a grandmother: Singer’s daughter Aanisah Hinds, 29, gives birth to baby son SEVEN WEEKS early

Macy Gray was over the moon on Friday as she celebrated becoming a grandmother after her eldest daughter Aanisah Hinds gave birth to a baby boy.

The 56-year-old singer-songwriter flashed a soft smile for the camera as she sat down with the adorable baby in her arms.

In her caption, she shared that Aanisah gave birth seven weeks before her due date, but thankfully the 29-year-old’s baby seemed to be doing well as Macy snuggled up to him.

“Me and gbaby! Best friends!” she captioned the adorable video. “7 weeks early and growing fast. Things are going great. Thanks for asking.”

The sweet moment seemed to signal an easing of tensions between Macy and her daughter after Aanisah accused her brother Tracy Melvin Hinds of beating their mother, though the singer denied that her son assaulted her.

Earlier, on July 18, she shared a video of her daughter shortly after giving birth, holding her baby. The boy’s name does not appear to have been announced yet

Macy first shared her happy news on July 18 in a video posted to her Instagram, which shows her daughter in her hospital bed shortly after giving birth.

The singer accompanied the clip with a meditative cover of the Beatles classic Here Comes The Sun by Nina Simone, which perfectly matched the mood of the song in which her daughter received her newborn son after he was swaddled.

“He made it! I’m a GMA! Thank you God for this huge blessing!” Macy gushed in her caption. “Happy tears all over our bodies. Thank you to all our family and friends. See you at the big party! LOVE in a million.”

In her subsequent video, Macy wore thick, black glasses and a comfy, gray Ohio State hoodie as she held her grandson in her arms.

It is unclear how much time passed between the birth and her new clip featuring the premature baby.

A birth seven weeks before the due date is considered moderately preterm, and babies born this early are typically smaller than normal and may have difficulty breathing and feeding at first, the Mayo Clinic.

However, Macy’s comment that her grandson was “growing fast” suggested he was doing well.

Her family conflicts came to light in February of this year, when Aanisah filed a motion in Los Angeles seeking a restraining order against Macy’s son Tracy Melvin Hinds, 28.

Aanisah wrote in her complaint that “Tracy got into a physical altercation with my mother,” according to documents obtained by Page Six.

Macy’s daughter alleged in court documents that her brother Tracy was also physically violent toward her and her boyfriend after they tried to defend the singer (real name: Natalie McIntyre).

Aanisah accused Tracy of being drunk and claimed that he regularly became violent when he drank.

But Macy later denied her daughter’s claims that Tracy had hit her.

“He made it! I’m a GMA! Thank you God for this huge blessing!” Macy wrote after her grandson was born. “Tears of joy everywhere. Thank you to all our family and friends. See you at the big party! LOVE in a million”

“Me and gbaby! Best friends!” she captioned a clip of herself holding Monday’s baby, which seemed to indicate he was doing well after his premature birth. “7 weeks early and growing fast. He’s doing great. Thanks for asking everyone.”

In the latest episode of The Surreal Life, Gray documented how she experienced shortness of breath and difficulty walking after reacting adversely to an injection of the diabetes drug Ozempic, which has become a celebrity weight-loss drug.

In a statement to PeopleShe said: ‘My son and I love each other and he would never think of physically harming me.

‘In addition, like every family, we have our problems and we try to deal with them.’

Macy has recently appeared on MTV’s reality series The Surreal Life, where she chronicled her use of the diabetes treatment Ozempic, which is also popular as a weight loss drug.

The most recent episode of the series described a medical emergency that occurred after she was injected with the drug, which left her with difficulty breathing and walking, although she has since recovered.
