A school community is in shock after a bullet is fired through a window in a classroom in western Sydney.
Police were called to the public school on Fields Rd in Macquarie Fields at about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday after reports that a window had been shattered by a projectile.
A crime scene was established and the room was searched, finding a small caliber bullet which will be forensically examined by specialist police.
There are no reports of injuries to students or staff and the school is not under lockdown.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
