Maccas fans were bitterly disappointed by a key issue with the launch of the new January menu, claiming that the Aussie Angus burger was missing a key ingredient.

One fan, Russ of Russ Eats on Instagram, rated the burger four out of ten, because the chain left out the egg.

Speaking to his 38k followers, the chemical engineer and self-described foodie said he was kicking off his segment ‘with a bang’.

Russ of Russ Eats, pointed out that McDonalds has taken away the egg from this year’s Aussie Angus, angering him and other burger lovers. The egg was still appearing in part of the app on launch day.

“The photo here in the app shows an egg, but when you click on it, the egg is gone and it’s not listed in the ingredients,” he said indignantly.

“Either they have forgotten it here or there is no egg this year,” he added.

He then brought up stories of the burger’s 2022 launch, which included an egg, saying removing it is “un-Australian”.

Russ ordered on the app and headed to the restaurant to pick up the new items, which also included a potato scallop and a Hokey Pokey shake.

The van confirmed that the restaurant had removed the egg from the popular menu item.

‘No egg,’ he said, showing the burger to the camera.

‘Confirmed no egg in Aussie Angus.’

He confirmed that there is no egg and showed a picture of the burger he got from the car.

Russ said the burger would have scored “nine out of ten” if it had an egg on it, but gave it a four instead.

He gave the scallop fries three out of ten, because it tasted like a ‘servo scallop’ that’s been under heat lamps too long instead of the superior ‘fish and chip shop’ scallop.

The restaurant’s Hokey Pokey shake was good, according to Russ, who gave it a nine out of ten.

Other irate customers have claimed that they tried to order the Aussie Angus only to be told there would be no beetroot in their order.

“No egg, no beetroot, that’s not an Aussie burger, that’s food crime,” said a devastated snacker.

Other Maccas fans complained that there was no beetroot available when they tried to order the burger online.

Russ rated the burger a 4/10 and said he was also disappointed by the scallops with potatoes.

Russ’s fans agreed with his strong stance against the new beef burger.

You can’t say that a burger is Australian if it doesn’t have an egg. We rioted,” wrote one man.

‘No beetroot, no pineapple that I can understand from a giant chain. But there’s no damn egg!? They are already selling eggs. I DON’T LOVE IT ANYMORE,’ closed another.

A staff member said that there is a very logical explanation for the lack of egg.

“They removed the egg because they don’t serve all day breakfast anymore, we don’t cook eggs after that,” they said.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted McDonald’s Australia for comment.

Maccas announced the new menu on Tuesday with the in-store launch on Wednesday.

The new menu also includes a new McSpicy burger that Russ didn’t try on camera.
