Lynne recently opened up about the aging process and says she’s more self-conscious about her appearance on screen.

“With something like Home And Away, you don’t want to look like shit,” he offered candidly.

“You also don’t, on the contrary, want to look so fabulous that when people see you in real life they’re like, ‘What the hell?'” she added.

As the longest-serving female cast member on the show, she argued that her portrayal of Irene was apt.

“I know I look older on screen and that’s okay, because it fits the character,” he explained.

The Sydney-born actress admitted that she has become picky when it comes to working with the soap’s hair and makeup department, chalking it up to ‘ego’.

She acknowledged that her physical appearance concerned her more now than when she began her career, taking more of a “what the hell” approach back then.
