Lyneham, Canberra: Woman found naked and screaming on a suburban street was allegedly held captive by a man for days
A woman has been found naked and screaming on a suburban street after she was allegedly trapped and raped by a man in a nearby house.
An ACT police patrol spotted the woman at the Fairweather Circuit in Lyneham, north Canberra, about 7pm on Monday.
Officers immediately took her into their car, where she told officers she had been locked up in a nearby house for several days.
During that time, she alleged that the man repeatedly molested and sexually assaulted her, causing numerous injuries.

A 44-year-old man from Lyneham was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with forcible confinement, rape, assault and failure to appear.
Police said investigations were ongoing and further charges were expected to be laid against the man.
He was due to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
