She also listed her sources of inspiration.

“I was inspired by synthpop, the 80s, the Strike and summer. People need something to dance to,” she added to DailyMail.com.

Her mother Lynda – who is also a talented singer – was a great coach.

“My mom has been a fantastic champion of my music and has enabled me to build my career and develop myself,” she added.

Jessica first wanted to be a singer when she was just a young child.

“I’ve wanted to be a singer ever since I joined my first choir in first grade,” she noted.

“I really can’t remember a time when I wasn’t constantly singing and performing. My vision of wanting to be a singer and how to go about it has evolved over time, but music has always been a crucial part of my life.”

This song comes out after her father, successful businessman Robert A Altman, passed away in 2021.

“I came to the studio because I wanted to write a song about how to move on and how to navigate life after some major change,” she shared.

“Whether it’s about moving on from a breakup or just going through a rough time, Pieces is about collecting your thoughts, picking yourself up and moving forward.”

And she said change is good.

“We all have a tendency to waste time on things we no longer have or can’t change. This song is an anthem that encourages us to keep going – realizing that it’s okay to keep moving forward.

“There’s a lot of great things to come,” Jessica said.

Altman follows in her mother’s musical footsteps – Lynda sang all over the country in a lounge setting.

In fact, singing was her first love before acting.

The song Pieces delivers.

‘Jessica’s dynamic storytelling speaks to the rawest part of the human experience; after losing her father to a rare form of blood cancer, she wrote Cherry Blossoms, which was dedicated to him and brought her comfort during her darkest days.

Pieces is the next iteration of her journey, combining the emotionally driven verse work of her previous works with extensive production.

“Pieces is the first release of her highly anticipated album, scheduled for release in Fall 2023,” it added.

“Collaborating with seasoned collaborators, Jessica’s new material will blend her signature lyricism with new sonic heights, creating a soundscape that is both familiar and exciting for those who listen.”
