A robber ‘who targeted old ladies’ has been kicked and beaten in the street after he tried to rob a 90-year-old woman in Rome.

The 26-year-old was initially attacked on Thursday by a group of three men who punched him in the face before others joined in as the assault moved from the sidewalk to the road.

In the middle of the street, a group started hitting and kicking the man as he remained seated and then stood up.

The assault in Rome’s Quarticciolo neighborhood was captured on video by a resident and immediately went viral on social networks.

Florinda Pavone shared the video: ‘With so much footage and shouting not to defend one man against a hundred, but to avoid the shock against one’s own car.

‘Not people but BEASTS. And we are amazed at how many acts of violence are happening today. This is the reality.

‘I really wonder if there is hope and if it is worth living here and facing this.

In April 2021, Italian jeweler Mario Roggero opened fire on a gang of robbers, shooting two dead in the street after they robbed his boutique and threatened his family.

The attempted theft by three men took place in Grinzane Cavour around 6:30 p.m.

When the mother and daughter working at the store opened a jewelry box as requested, one of the thieves pulled out a gun, while the other brandished a knife.

The 67-year-old jeweler is said to have shot when he heard his wife screaming.

The third robber suffered injuries to his leg and was later arrested.
