Thieves have vandalized dozens of luxury cars along Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway, scaring residents for their safety.
A Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputy warned area residents about the spate of burglaries over Memorial Day weekend.
Authorities said nearly 24 cars were targeted between Memorial Day and June 8.
A woman had her Range Rover smashed by thieves who stole a handbag and sunglasses while she was partying at a nearby beach house. That woman described seeing her beloved jeep as “traumatizing.”
CCTV footage captured the break-in and caught the suspects wiping their fingerprints to avoid being caught.

A resident who identified only as Leah was a victim of the targeted robberies and her vehicle was vandalized.

Thieves, wearing gloves and masks, smashed the windows of her car and stole a handbag and sunglasses.
She captured the entire incident on surveillance cameras outside her home and it shows the thieves pulling up in a gray Toyota Prius.
They quickly focused on her friend’s car before turning off the road only to crash into other vehicles.
“To walk out and see everything destroyed was just traumatizing because you don’t feel safe in your own house and Malibu is so peaceful that everyone likes to come here,” she told the local television station. KTLA.
“It just hurts to see these guys have the guts to break in and get away with it, just walk out, get in their car and live on that from day to day.
Jai Hendrix also had her car broken into and caught the incident on camera.
“They were kind of professionals at it. I mean, with the surveillance videos, they swiped something on the window before and used a tool to break in,” she said.
“It seemed like they knew what they were doing.”
She believes the thieves were prepared and carefully reconnoitred the area and took their time planning the break-ins.

The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station is investigating the spate of burglaries and has urged anyone who recognizes the suspects in the surveillance footage to come forward
“A bit ironic, because we’re immersed in all these beautiful homes here and then you can’t even really park your car out front because your car could get smashed and broken into,” Hendrix said.
Those with damage to their vehicles along the Pacific Coast Highway must use rental cars while their car is being repaired.
The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station is investigating the spate of burglaries.
It has called on anyone who recognizes the suspects in the surveillance footage to come forward.
