Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s a Concorde-shaped superyacht: luxurious 425ft ‘Thunder Bird’ hydrofoil with full glass decks, spa and pool is featured in concept design
- Turkish yacht designer Aras Kazar has come up with the design concept.
- Is called Wakinyan, a Native American Lakota word for thunder
A designer has submitted jaw-dropping concept plans for a Concorde-shaped superyacht.
The luxurious 425-foot ship, complete with glass decks, a spa, and a pool, has been sketched by Turkish yacht designer Aras Kazar.
The boat is a trimaran, as it has three hulls, and it comes equipped with electric and hydrofoil technology, giving it a top speed of 32 knots.
Kazar has named his creation Wakinyan, a Native American Lakota word for thunder.
He said: ‘The word is usually translated as ‘Thunder Spirits’, ‘Thunder Beings’ or ‘Thunder Birds’.
The luxurious 425-foot ship has been sketched by Turkish yacht designer Aras Kazar.
Kazar said, “Full glass covers provide nearly 360-degree views with plenty of natural light for the interior.”
Describing the yacht, Kazar said: ‘This bird floating in the water is 130 meters long. I followed my elegant line in this project’
The designer said the Wakinyan is at a “concept level” but could go into production if an investor is found. There is currently no price estimate for the model.

“The interior design follows the soft, calm and cloudy feeling of the exterior. Wakinyan is designed to make you feel calm and relaxed, whether you’re enjoying it from the inside or just looking at it from the outside.’
The yacht is also home to five “soft, snug, and misty” bedrooms and a master bedroom.
Wakinyan is the latest project from Aras Kazar, which specializes in “minimalist, futuristic and elegant” designs, and has a portfolio of superyacht concepts.

Last year, he revealed the design for Ono, a glass and metal “floating villa” superyacht, complete with solar panels on the roof and inspired by Spartan helmets.
In February, Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht Koru, codenamed Y721, was spotted in the North Sea after setting sail from Rotterdam, footage released by the Dutch Yachting organization shows.
The test run of the 417-foot vessel came months after it was originally scheduled to be delivered to the Amazon founder.
The superyacht requires a 250 foot support vessel with a helicopter landing pad.
Koru caused controversy last year after a report that Dutch officials would have to dismantle the historic Koningshaven Bridge because the 130-foot steel structure would not allow access for the ship and its 229-foot masts.
