Premier League hopefuls Luton Town have released new images of their planned state-of-the-art stadium which would be a significant upgrade to their existing ground.

Kenilworth Road, Luton’s current home ground, has come under fire from opposition fans who have mocked the Championship kit in front of their aging stadium which sits in the middle of a residential area.

The club are planning to demolish their Bobbers stand this summer if they want to win promotion to the Premier League in their upcoming play-off final against Coventry on Saturday.

Luton Town CEO Gary Sweet recently responded to criticism when he expressed annoyance at complaints about social media pranks mocking the club’s premises.

New footage has now been shown of their new Power Court ground, with the club announcing final design plans which will soon be submitted for planning permission.

Luton’s new site will be built on a 20-acre site next to the town’s main railway station

Plans will be submitted during the off-season for the new stadium to have a capacity of 19,500, an upgrade from the existing 10,356 that Kenilworth Road has.

The club also reports that a further 4,000 seats or a safe standing section will be added during a second phase of upgrades.

The images show a modern glass and metal framework, with floodlights on the inside of the ground hanging around the entire stadium.

Luton’s new ground would be built on a 20-acre site close to the city’s central station, providing easy access for both home and away supporters.

The club has set a build time of 24-30 months, meaning supporters won’t be able to get a glimpse until 2025 at the earliest.

Luton CEO Sweet kept fans updated on the new development: “We are delighted that the infrastructure element is underway, enabling us to develop the details of the stadium’s design and work particularly hard to improve the to capture key features that make Kenilworth Road so unique. so atmospheric, so intimate and so special to us.

“This season, perhaps more than any other season, has shown the incredible relationship we all have with The Kenny and that has been the driving force behind our design work.”

He added: ‘We know everyone is desperate for the new stadium to open – just like us!

“Obviously it’s a hugely complicated project, but the main aim has always been to maintain the architectural quality and deliver a stadium that replicates an essential, unique character that we are all so familiar with, but also fit and ready to take on the Premier League.” stage.”
