Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapses against Bournemouth in worrying scenes as players are led off the pitch during the Premier League match
Luton captain Tom Lockyer is 'alert and responsive' after collapsing during the second half of their Premier League match against Bouremouth.
The Premier League match was suspended in the 65th minute after Lockyer fell off the ball with no one around him.
The Luton captain collapsed close to the center circle after an apparent head injury, with manager Rob Edwards running onto the pitch to support his player.
Medical staff treated the Welsh international with players visibly frazzled on the Dean Court pitch. Luton teammate Issa Kabore was seen praying on the touchline.
Referee Simon Hooper took players off the pitch as Lockyer continued to receive treatment, with fans singing in support of the defender.

Lockyer was then stretchered off the field to a standing ovation.
Bournemouth's staff doctor confirmed to Mail Sport that Lockyer is 'alert and responsive'.
It was announced at the stadium that the match had been suspended.
“The match between AFC Bournemouth and Luton Town has been suspended,” read a statement from Luton.
“All our thoughts are with Tom Lockyer at this time.”
The 29-year-old had previously collapsed during the play-off final at Wembley in May.
Lockyer was cleared to return to football after undergoing heart surgery in June.
He suffered from atrial fibrillation, which causes an irregular – or unusually fast – heartbeat.
The match was stopped at 1-1.
