Lupin returning for a third series on Netflix after tragic death of Adama Niane
Hit Netflix show confirms it’s returning for a third series – months after the tragic death of the show’s star
Hit show Lupine returns for a third season two years after the last episode of the series.
The French crime drama became an international hit when it launched in January 2021, with part two coming out five months later.
Netflix has now announced that part three will be released on October 5 and is sharing the news on their official Twitter account.
Unfortunately, show star Adama Niane passed away in January at the age of 56. It is unknown if he saw the final cut before his death and the cause of death has not been confirmed.
The French actor is best known for his role as assassin and ex-convict Leonard Kone in Lupin.

Adama’s Lupine co-star Omar Sy paid tribute to the star on Twitter, describing the actor as a “man of rare benevolence.”
He wrote, “I extend my deepest condolences to the loved ones of Adama Niane, a wonderful actor alongside whom I had the opportunity and pleasure to play.
“A man of rare benevolence… May his soul rest in peace.”
Lupine became the first French series to land on Netflix’s Top 10 list, reaching number 1 in Brazil, Vietnam, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland to name a few.
The drama stars Omar as Assane Diop – someone who lives the life inspired by thief Arsène Lupine, from the LeBlanc novels.
The concept has been developed over the years into several other film and TV formats, including an animated series.
The production of Lupine part three was disrupted last year when 20 masked men robbed the set.
These brutal criminals made off with an estimated 300.00 euros ($330,000) worth of equipment, leading to a brief halt in production.

The thieves broke into the set after firing mortar firecrackers into the area, though a statement from Netflix confirmed no one was injured in the incident.
“There was an incident on February 25 while filming the upcoming season of Lupine. Our cast and crew are safe and there were no injuries,” the statement said.
Filming of the Netflix series was halted for a few days.
Authorities in Nanterre have launched an investigation into the robbery, although it has not been specified what was stolen in the incident.
