Earlier this week, Runcorn had celebrated Littler's great performance in the competition when they posted a photo of him standing in front of the club's dartboard with his 'Bogey Flicker' teammates.

They even reminded him that he had a match coming up at the club this week, as they hailed him as a 'magician'.

“He's a magician and he's one of us… We couldn't be more proud of you @lukethenukettler. Keep going, we're all behind you. Don't forget you have another match on Thursday!'

Littler – who will meet Luke Humphries in Wednesday's showpiece – was understandably stunned and seemingly at a loss for words after his seismic win, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head when asked for his thoughts on the encounter.

His club dubbed him a 'magician' after celebrating his amazing achievement this week

'No words!' He said before adding: 'Crazy to think I'm in a World Cup final on my debut. I was happy to win one match, but I could go all out!

'You play Rob (Cross), he is a world champion and won on his debut just like me. Rob said to me, “God bless, respect to you – you are one step away, do it”.

'I just landed on the stage. It took me a few legs to get into the match and once I found that rhythm I was ready to go!'

'I'll do what I did. Go for an omelette with ham and cheese in the morning, then come here for a pizza and then practice! That's what I've been doing every day.”

An incredible throwback image has emerged from the pair's meeting after the Hayling Island quarter-final in November 2019

Luke 'The Nuke' initially made headlines after it emerged he enjoyed a kebab after every match.

The teenager has consistently defied expectations by reaching the finals and breaking records along the way.

Not only is he the youngest player to ever reach the last 16, the last eight, the last four and now the final, but his quarter-final clash with Dolan attracted the most viewers of any previous last eight clash in the history of the League. .

He had played just four PDC event matches prior to the tournament and is now in contention for the £500,000 top prize.

Littler will now face Luke Humphries in the final – and it won't be the first time Littler has faced the 28-year-old.

An incredible throwback photo that recalls a meeting between the two four years ago – when the 16-year-old sensation was just 12 and his opponent was 24.

In a photo posted to his Twitter account, Littler stands next to Humphries after they played against each other in a match on Hayling Island.
