- Sky’s new docuseries ‘Game of Throws: Inside Darts’ launches on November 30
- The series provides behind-the-scenes access to last year’s World Championships
- Luke Littler’s run to the final as a 16-year-old proved the story of the tournament
World champion Luke Humphries and teen sensation Luke Littler feature in the trailer for a new Sky documentary ‘Game of Throws: Inside Darts’.
The documentary will officially launch on November 30 on Sky and NOW, ahead of next month’s PDC World Championships.
The three-part docuseries focuses on last year’s World Championships at Alexandra Palace, where 96 players competed to become world champions and claim the £500,000 top prize.
Last year’s tournament saw the popularity of darts soar, after then 16-year-old Luke Littler grew from an unknown teenager to a big star.
Littler, known as ‘The Nuke’, stormed through the rounds of the tournament as the then youth world champion threatened to claim the senior title.
His record-breaking debut fell just short as Humphries defeated Littler 7-4 in the final, which was watched by a record 4.8 million people on Sky Sports.

Littler was famously greeted by chants of “you have school tomorrow morning” from the crowd as the 16-year-old came through the rounds.
Littler’s progress through the tournament will be chronicled in the docuseries, which promises to tell the story of the ‘new kid on the block’.
The trailer included a commentary from Littler’s mother Lisa, reflecting on his progress at Alexandra Palace.
“He’s still a kid at heart even though he looks like a man,” Lisa noted, as footage showed the teen playing his Playstation.
Littler isn’t the only star to feature during the series, with tournament favorite ‘Cool Hand’ Luke Humphries discussing his title ambitions.
Humphries was heard saying during the trailer: “I have to leave this sport with a world title and that makes me even hungrier.”
He would ultimately achieve that goal by defeating Littler in the final to claim the title for the first time in his career.
Defending champion ‘Bully Boy’ Michael Smith and Dutch superstar ‘Mighty Mike’ Michael van Gerwen, among others, have taken part in the series.
Littler played on his Playstation as his mother Lisa commented that her son was still “a kid at heart” as the country became embroiled in its run to the World Cup final.

Littler, Humphries and Van Gerwen were present at the premiere of the docuseries on Monday.
The world premiere took place at Picturehouse Central in London, ahead of the official launch on November 30.
The docuseries is co-produced by Dorothy St Pictures – the award-winning company behind ‘Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story’ – and John Skipper’s US-based Meadowlark.
The series comes ahead of this year’s World Championships, when Littler and Humphries are expected to compete again.
Littler has gone from strength to strength since his stunning debut, with the 17-year-old winning the Premier League Darts and Grand Slam of Darts this year.
He had to settle for second place at the Players Championship on Sunday as Humphries emerged victorious and defended the title he won in 2023.
